Carey Price most likely finished with playing hockey
TSN: "Carey Price says he's come to terms with his playing days likely behind him but he's still hopeful that things could change. He reveals his knee feels great on a day-to-day basis but it can't handle the continued stress of playing goalie for a full season. He's focused on his family right now and rehabbing his knee for consistency in his life."
A fantastic career for him cut short by injuries. Got his team to the Stanley Cup Finals, won a Vezina Trophy, Hart Trophy, Ted Lindsay Trophy, Jennings Trophy, and Masteron Trophy. A shame his career had to end a few years early.
Hall of Famer I would assume. Definitely not 1st ballot but I think he will get in eventually. What do you think?

Really unfortunate ending, but it was pretty cool to see him Carey that Canadiens team to the final.
One of my favourite goalies ever to just observe. He makes it look so effortless. Like he was born wearing goalie equipment.

Too bad to have a great career cut short. Respect to him for putting his future and family first.

It is crazy to know that Price is the all time wins leader for the Canadiens. Surely more of those 361 wins then not came because he carried the team. There have no doubt been some legendary goalies play for MTL, but non have had to play with such poor support. It would be criminal if they don't retire his number.

When he joined the team I said “it’s criminal he’s stuck with this roster”. And then I repeated it when he re-upped. And again. It’s nuts that you could bungle things so badly that you only get to the finals once with that guy in net.

The Habs during his tenure really rode him hard and put him away wet like a rented Mule.
His career was almost exclusively Hard Mileage.

Definitely a HOF, and perhaps a first ballot one.
A good international career paves the way for him I think.

I think he'll make it to the Hall of Fame for sure, but maybe not first ballot. Though there are less deserving people in the Hall than he is.

Plus the list of eligible Hart winners not in the Hall of Fame is very short.

That 4 year stretch from 2014-2017 is probably one of the best stretches for a goalie ever - and he missed time in the middle of it due to injury.
Over that 4 year period:

Habs goalie on name recognition itself I think will put him as a first ballot.

There seems to be a push recently of inducting goalies more often now. Certainly there was some that deserve to be in who aren't. I think Price is for sure 1st ballot. To play in the craziest hockey market out there and win as many awards as he did on some pretty bad Habs teams in remarkable. Not to mention carrying that team to the finals. I think we all knew it was a given the Bolts would win, but he would easily be a legendary figure if he pulled it off. Not to mention the gold medals in international play. Not to mention he was legit the best in the world at his position for a sustained amount of time.
It would be an absolute travesty if he wasn't in the hall at some point.
*Also on a side note, it's been a while since I have used NHL.com to look up stats. What ####ing idiot not only designed the player's stats page, but also has an idiot of a manager who approved it? What kind of stat page has no tabulated totals at the bottom? WTF. Were people rioting to have it removed? Imagine looking up Carey Price's stats and not being able to see total games played or wins. Because that is exactly how it is. F'ing absolute garbage webpage.*

I pretty much hate the habs, but I think Price is a no-doubter HOFer. I am fine with those guys that didn't have the longest career, but were amongst the best while they were there.
Cam Neely, as an example.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.
