Probably best he focuses on getting his game back. He doesn’t need to pile more on his plate.

My choices were the same as you, Weegar and Huberdeau.
Part of being the captain is also jersey sales. How many of us that are on this site will be racing to get a Rasmus jersey? For me I’ll be ok without one, even though I do appreciate the player.
|
Iggy was the best player on the team and one of the top in the league. Captain or no captain, when you have a player like that his presence will help to attract players. Players recruit players all the time even if the one doing the recruiting isn't a captain.

Let us never forget the sacrifice of Sven Baertschi going to Vancouver to bring us Rasmus Andersson.
Thank you Vancouver, never change.

Huberdeau would be better off wearing #1 than 10.

Nor does Rasmus, don't need him backsliding now.

This take sounds Oilery.
Only crybaby whiners would see Rasmuses epic on ice leadership as "antics"

It's also possible it's Canucky, Leafy, or Peggy.

Does anyone think this thing is somehow related to Lindholm resigning before the season starts and the C being attached to a contract extension?

I don’t actually think Huberdeau would have an issue with it, but if he does he can pack his bags. Andersson has earned it with both his actions off the ice and his performance on the ice. Not something we can say about Huberdeau since he’s been in Calgary.

Yeah, except Andersson is a defenceman. Who had 6 fewer points last season than 'Superstar Huberdeau' and...he was hit by a car.
If Huberdeau has a problem with it then he needs to show that he deserves it. On the ice. Via performance.

It would be wild to think that a player we selected 8 years ago would be the next captain after Gio.
Having a captain to steer the ship will only make this team better than what they were last year, rather than a gong show.

Taking a while to get to 5000

^ Conroy said it, Steinberg reported it
I can't post tweets anymore here but the line from Conroy was "he did indicate that he wasn't going to re-sign this summer but that doesn't mean he won't ever re-sign"
