Agree. We won't get much for Backlund, so just get it done. Hanifin should garner a better return, but it's not going to be earth-shattering at this point.

Just listened to his interview and he's not fully bought in. He sounded reflective or his time in Calgary all offseason today a little less but comments like well we need to be top 3 in our division mid year and I might stay doesn't cut it.
Doesn't send a great messages for the infusion of young talent having a guy who isn't committed to being here.
Also he has no obligation to stay his contract is over after this season he is allowed to feel that way and the team should do him a solid and trade him.
The one comment that was interesting was I had a career year came into the season and now I had to do it again to get a big deal. Huh?

That Lindholm interview makes it sound like he will sign but we just need to meet his price.
Which makes sense. The Flames are in a position to pay these players more than anyone else (barring a trade). A pretty penny will be paid, and the players should always maximize their position.
At the end of the day, I just want this period of “will they or won’t they” to end. It sucks as a fan of this team to see the number of people bail on this team in recent years.
If you want to be a Flame, be a Flame. This has been a #%^*ty stretch to be a Flames fan, and I want it to end. I want a team, not a bunch of non-committal mercenaries weighing their options.

Who is the guy that looms in the background of all Flames interviews? He just has ####ty horrible "assshole bouncer" vibes to him. I wish he'd stay off camera.
