Have to think they're heavy favorites this Ryder Cup.

Leaving Meronk off is a mistake.

Not gonna lie, being in Europe this year sort of blows the excitement for me. Won’t be able to watch much if any of it.

Pretty pleased to see that Europe selected the kid from Texas Tech. I hope he kills it.

Weird, I could have swore the PGA announced they had got rid of the fall tournaments and were moving to a January start for the new season, going forward.
Looking at their website they have a bunch of tournaments, the first being next week. Maybe the new schedule thing doesn't start until 2025?

Oh, googled and I get it now. So the 7 fall events are actually part of the fed ex season that just ended. They say it's a way for players to make up positions on the back end of the season, instead of the "beginning". Thus allowing the top players to skip the fall without worrying about trying to accumulate points.
Basically gives the top 50 a true off season. But still allows the rest to play more and improve their ranking and qualify for more starts next season (january 2024).

Yes. McKenzie Hughes is basically going to try to make it back into the top 50 so he gets into the signature events.
I expect him to play alot.

How exactly do you get back into the top 50. That means people in the top 50 now can fall out?

No, these are additional spots if you finish in the top 50 by season's end. Top 50 currently already cemented.
Hughes is 51st at 911. But a bunch of guys are close behind and could pass him.

"I would love to be a part of the team," Johnson told The Palm Beach Post. "But to be honest, I haven't really played that well this year. But have I played well enough to be on the team? Yeah. I didn't have the best year. Was it good enough to make the team? I think so.
"If I would have been playing on [the PGA Tour], yeah, I would have made the team. Do I think I can help the U.S. team? Absolutely.

He would have made the team after not playing well........because???
The only guy he would unseat is JT, but so could a number of PGA guys who were as good, if not better, than DJ.
Sour grapes, but also understandable. He is not getting younger after all.

Why do we have such terrible golf coverage in Canada? Wanna watch Ryder Cup day 1? Nope, TSN's coverage doesn't begin until Saturday. Wanna watch a reply of any of the three days of competition? Sorry, TSN doesn't offer replays, at all. What an absolute joke.

This is where it gets tricky for North Americans. The Ryder Cup kicks off at 1:30 a.m. ET on Friday and runs until noon. The schedule is the same for Saturday. Sunday’s singles play begins at a somewhat better 5:30 a.m. ET.
Coverage in Canada is available Friday on the Golf Channel before switching to TSN for the weekend.

Thanks for the info . Unfortunately I don't have cable and subscribe directly to TSN. As far as I know we can't watch Golfchannel in Canada without cable.

Is the Ryder cup really that big in Canada? Yes it's big for golf fans every 2 years but it's US against Europe. I don't think it draws like the majors do.

When Koepka was asked Wednesday at Marco Simone Golf and Country Club whether LIV players had been given a fair chance to qualify for the Ryder Cup team on rankings points, he answered: "I don't make the decisions. It doesn't -- everybody had an opportunity to get there. I mean, I had the same opportunity as every other LIV player, and I'm here.
"Play better. That's always the answer."

I like how Koepka pretty much belittles the team concept of Liv in his answer. "I mean, you're just going to play a round of golf and then the team scores add up at the end."
