Where was this weather yesterday?? Night & day different, too bad it was so crappy on Labour Day. But it just makes the surprisingly strong, boisterous crowd even more impressive. They deserved the finish they got.

I was pointing out that despite a huge comeback win and aside from one poor decision, Maier had a good game. In fact, he's had several recently. Did you think I said you were saying that? It's all so confusing.
But what isn't confusing is your constant negativity about ALL Calgary sports teams.

You 100% made up the bolded part about me. I said I enjoyed the game as shown by my quote in this thread. In no part of the post you quoted did I comment on my or anyone else's enjoyment of the game. The bolded part below is 100% fabrication by you. And goes against my earlier post where I say the exact opposite of your claim.

Exciting game. Some amazing plays on both sides. Huge comeback.
I have been as critical as the next guy about Maier and the team this year, but seriously, just try and enjoy something, ANYTHING for once. If you can't, at least let others do that and keep your negative bull#### out of here for just one game.
For the record, Maier's numbers were consistently good throughout the game and that's the best I have seen him throw all year. Because of the focus on Tre Ford (not to mention awful penalties and sacks), I think it detracted from a really solid game by him.

As for the BS about my negativity for all Calgary sports teams what about my post is untrue? What about my post has not been expressed by a majority of Stamps fans on this board? The majority of Stamps fans are frustrated by Maier's play, his decision making and arm strength have been topics of conversation by a hell of a lot more than me. In fact I have defended this team from many who have wanted DD fired or Maier sat for Stevens.

Well my man, you can only post so much negative, bitter resentment before people assume that's just who you are.
If you enjoyed that game, congrats, I'm really happy to hear that. While you may have, it always seems to be followed up but a big "but". In this case it was about Maier.
If you don't think you have a rep for being a negative Nancy, then I'm not sure what to tell you other than you are, perhaps, the MOST negative poster on here.
And you can spin whatever narrative you want - that I have fabricated that and you are dramatically offended, but that doesn't change the above.
Keep on keepin on.
Edit - Anywhos, back to football!

Oh I think I do have that rep but as I have shown here it is largely based on absolute #### not reality as you have shown here.
As for the but, it wasn't out of nowhere it was in response to what someone posted and as pointed out it wasn't out of line what what many Stamps fans think or what many others point out here.
The fact you try to spin me saying the game feels great and posting legitimate concerns about Maier as negative shows that for many it doesn't matter what is actually posted when they already have their minds made up.

The threshold to not play was 7 and when they played I saw it was either 10 or 9 so they didn't follow the rules.
The Elks should be docked a win in the standings and just move on from this mess.

I have a lot of thoughts about the air quality at that game. I was there. I have no regrets personally, because it was the most fun I've had at a football game in years. But I don't think it should have been played. The smoke was really significant, and my throat was sore for a day or two after. Kind of lost my voice for a day. I can only imagine what it would have been like to do strenuous exercise in those conditions.
I took a screenshot of Environment Canada's AQHI data for that day, and yes, it was 9 at kickoff and then 8 for most of the game (both 8 and 9 are categorized as high risk). The thing that really concerns me is these lines:
Quote:
“Before the Labour Day Classic in Calgary, beginning at noon, air quality readings were taken inside McMahon Stadium every 30 minutes until the conclusion of the game,” said a CFL spokesman. “Each of those readings was shared with the league office, the CFLPA and the two competing teams."
...
" All readings taken during warm-ups and throughout the game were considered 'moderate.' "

I'm an atmospheric scientist, I know how difficult it is to make a good measurement, and how easy it is to make a bad measurement. Especially if you would prefer to make a bad measurement. I wouldn't trust the CFL to make an accurate measurement at all, and unless OHS gets ahold of their instrument, and unless the CFL rigorously documented the calibration of that instrument, I wouldn't trust their measurement one bit. This is a big, open air stadium. There's no reason to use anything but the Environment Canada data to make decisions on whether or not to play the game.

There have been times I have gone outside when the air quality said 4 and you can clearly see its smokey and you can feel it.
Same thing with the 9-10 it never really felt like it or looked it.
Obviously a but different than the extreme we had earlier in the summer when it was like it was out of a movie.
How do they measure this?

I believe they measure it at the airport. So really depending on which way the wind is blowing, you're going to get a difference in measurements/smoke levels at different parts of the city.

So I haven't yet posted about Labour day but I had a great time. The fans were much better than in 07; I didn't feel like I was in physical danger and honestly everyone around me was quite nice, except the dude to my right. He kept voicing really whiney complaints out loud, like how O'Shea "gets to talk to the refs whenever he wants". He also couldn't believe the roughing the passer or rough play call from the head butt.
The stadium is great, but, the layout makes for terrible concourse crowding at half time and before the game. They had so much room to build this thing, it's huge, and yet they still ####ed it up. I couldn't believe how bad it was during half time.
Which is nicer, IG or Mosaic? I think aesthetically speaking and a game day experience IG is nicer, looks better, and works better, but, you can tell that Mosaic cost more and the stadium seems high quality. The design choice was weirdly modern to me though. It doesn't really match the province or city, they probably should have gone with a brick style like Winnipeg did. Overall an amazing stadium though with great sightlines. Just really, really bad functionality for the concourse.
Glad I had a chance to check it out, and was really surprised about how cool the Rider fans were especially after the win. Would go again but who knows when that will be possible.
I wish I could go to Winnipeg Saturday but it just doesn't work out scheduling wise.

From a Stamps fan's perspective, the OOT has been kind of a dick lately...I don't care for it.
