In past years, there'd be a few other Calgary-based NHLers taking part.
Phillips just getting in a few extra skates before he packs up for Hershey.

In another thread someone posted a tweet by Salim suggesting these were Captain skates. Therefore, one of Tanev, Dube, Coleman, or Backlund is the next captain.
I'm not a professional private detective. In case my deductive reasoning led anyone to believe that.

I have no idea what that is, I think it's just a term Salim came up with. It could be just a term for an unofficial team skate.

Just a hunch, but if Washington waives Phillips for whatever reason during or after pre-season, could see the Flames picking him back up. Conroy did want him back earlier in the summer.

It would mean that the Flames would be giving him a roster spot. I guess it depends how the Flames look out of camp, but it would have to come at the expense of one of the younger players currently trying to make the club.

Given how the cap is pressuring so many teams (including us....and not sure how we could fit anyone), but i can see better players than Phillips coming available.
