I'm not going to tell you they're worth it, but they contain a lot of technology that even Mercedes and BMW have been envious of. But they're catching up, which I think is a big reason Tesla has had to cut prices.

Market share, market share, market share.
They can afford to because their margins are so high and they're losing market share fast because there's more competition. Price wars in China are even steeper

The Model 3 and Y are significantly cheaper.
The S and X are the original sedan and SUV, are bigger, and more powerful with more features.
They don't sell nearly as many S&Xs.

They can afford to go cheaper, but the S&X don't have high demand anymore, and some of the actual luxury brands have nicer options in that price range now.

The Model S & X are both long on the tooth. If you have been driving a Model S since say 2016 and want to buy a new car, Tesla only offers you a new version of the same car so I would expect a lot of Model S & X owners may move on to other brands over time.

Elon Musk has threatened to sue the Anti-Defamation League after accusing the civil rights group that campaigns against antisemitism and bigotry of trying to “kill” his X social media platform.
The owner of X, formerly known as Twitter, said the ADL was trying to shut down his company by “falsely accusing it and me of being antisemitic”.

LOL, now he's gonna go to war with the Anti-defamation League. The reason they are pointing out that your platform is full of Nazi's is that your platform is full of Nazis. The problem isn't the people pointing it out.

Isn’t the real irony how frequently he has found himself being sued for defamation and just waving it off as a joke.

Looks great from this view anyway. Shame about the rear end but overall Hyundai/Kia have done a pretty good job with their initial EV's.

Only those models. You can get a brand new Model 3 for ~$25K after incentives in some states. And a Model Y for a little over $30K.

how about the BMW "Neue Klasse" 6th generation?
I know nothing about EV's but there seems to be some buzz about them in the media this past weekend.

From what I can see, not much different than a Tesla.

That BMW concept (I know it's just a concept) ticks a lot of boxes for things I hate about modern cars. Zero buttons or controls outside of a stupid tablet screen gaffer taped to the dash, and -- ugh -- stop replacing mirrors with cameras goddammit, you mindless dolts. Mirrors work far, far better with the way the human eye focuses on objects reflected in them.

And both Kia and Merc are built to a much higher standard than anything Tesla has ever built.

Is merc a Benz? Must be some newfangled kid slang as before those two posts I’ve never heard a Mercedes referred to as a Merc. Or is it some other car altogether that I’ve not heard of.

We use Merc lots in the F1 world. Maybe it bled over from there?
