But it is odd that a 25 year old, two time 40 goal scorer has already been traded twice. Maybe there’s something to it.

How could anyone dislike Debrincat? He looks like a harmless little Ewok….

And unlike American politics, real team sports (outside of Edmonton) don't have

So now you’re comparing CSEC/Edwards to Donald Trump? The Flames are brainwashing people?
This just keeps getting better.

You can look at it like that on the surface and question it hit digging a little deeper it is not that big of a deal. Chicago was going scorched earth rebuild and received a 7th overall pick to make the move. Debrincat didn’t want to sign long term and had the leverage so Ottawa was forced to trade him. It is not like he was ran out of both places.
PLD is not that different. Gets drafted by Columbus and then traded to Winnipeg. 2 bottom 5 markets in the league before he found his way to LA where I am sure he will be happy.

Chicago traded him because he wanted too much for an 8 year extension, and they didn't think he fit their timeline for contention.
Ottawa traded him because he wouldn't sign with them.

The average person hasn’t been the market for Flames tickets for over 20 years.

Half the board wants to trade 26 year old Noah Hanifin for the second time in his career. Sometimes it's just the life cycle of the team.

Did half the board pine for a Hanifin trade prior to the information that he's leaving regardless?
Was it for any other reason other than salary cap related issues signing Hanifin to his next contract would create?

But that's the point.
It's not that Debrincat was unliked. His contract situation and refusal to re-sign (at what they were willing to pay) in both Chicago and Ottawa was why he was moved.
Not because of locker room issues. Ottawa wanted to re-sign him, he said no, so he was traded.

Yes, quite a few.
Some did because they think he's overrated.
Some did because they thing he's super valuable and could bring back a good return.
Some did because he's had the occasional rough night.
Some did because they think we've been stacked on defence and weak on wings and we could trade him for a good winger.
Some did because they're irrational.
Some did because they're rational.
Some did because they're negative.
Oh wait, sorry that was Hanifan not Hanifin, my bad.

I want Hanifin to get traded because I want to get excited about the return we get back in the trade. Especially if that prospect can turn into a Hanifin.
