Its brilliant.

You motivate them with safe-supply meth, get them to widen and shovel the bike paths, dont have to pay the Unionized City Roads department that wasnt going to do it anyways....and, because of the Meth they never get tired.

Its like the opposite of the City Roads Department!

If they want more Meth just point 'em at a road or bike lane. Like spinning a top.

There is some serious merit to this idea.

"How is this rehabilitating them from their crippling drug addiction?"

- "Hm? Whats that now? Um....next question."

This thread really went off topic.
Must be a slow week for crackheads causing newsworthy problems; so a good week I guess.

Can we add sneakerheads to the list? Bros lining up to pay exorbitant prices for shoes made in the same sweatshop as my $60 Skechers.

Like, you can't seriously tell me this is fine:

https://goo.gl/maps/xaEkGqC67hcLqBai8

Done by someone who considered the needs of all users then says, ya, #### it, toss that light post right there, on an extremely busy section of important pathway.

Even someone putting the bare minimum of brain power into this would have put the light post on the left of the road or found some other solution that isn't this. No, no, you're right, we shouldn't expect better. This is just perfect.
Not sure they could move the post anywhere else. It has to be right by the street to do it's job, and the river back is to the right of the path, so you can't move the path over. When they initially built the roadway, they didn't plan for a bike lane. The only way to create more room, would be to move the highway itself further from the river.

They could move the streetlights to the median, like they did when they widened 16th.

TBH, they're usually lining up to pay normal prices for a limited number of a certain shoe. The exorbitant prices come on the resale market, usually for collectors who couldn't secure the ones they want in-store or online store.

And don't admit to wearing Skechers. That's nasty.

But Sketchers??
That's just giving up. There has to be a middle ground between paying thousands for sneakers & wearing mom shoes.

The street lights look like they are alternating between both sides of the street. My guess is that need both sides illuminated. Probably because there's a river and a ditch on the right side.

Sketchers is great. Their sole game is on another level.

I don't know where moms come into the equation exactly but moms deserve the utmost respect so we'll take that as a compliment.

Only if the they vote left, and have super smarmy sarcastic attitudes looking down condescendingly on others.

What's silly is 40 year olds wearing those bright bulky basketball shoes when they haven't touched a court in over a decade.

Forget about moving the poles...IMO the most practical solution is to reduce Memorial to one lane. The poles could be part of a delineation between walking path and wheeling lane.

The Crowchild exit is a freeflow lane. I imagine traffic backs up/slows things a little bit onto Parkdale Blvd at absolute peak rush hour, but I doubt cars ever have to actually stop unless there is an incident.

I wear Skechers for work since I do quite a bit of walking. I also drive a minivan. I gave up a long time ago.

1980s and early 1990s basketball shoes are universally crappy for actually playing basketball in. At the time of their release they were a big step up from Converse All Stars, but still crap for performance.

They are just for fashion. A lot of the shoes are actually made out of different materials that make them even less suitable for basketball.

I've actually become a huge Sneakerhead. After having a baby, it's the only thing I have left.

Those are all about intimidation factor. When your opponent sees you pumping your shoes up, they will be too intimidated to play. The only thing more intimidating is throwing on a Power Glove before a video game competition.
