I don't want to miss say PEI or some little place in Nunavut. That's part of Canada. Ok that may not be the exact quote exactly, but that is the general idea that he said and the article conveyed across.

I understand that, but what I don't understand is playing the Cunard Centre instead of the Metro Centre in Halifax, or playing the Savoy Theatre in Glace Bay just outside of Sydney when Centre200 seats so many more.
Hell an outdoor concert on the waterfront would have been amazing, and have been able to hold thousands.
I don't understand the desire to play the small venues.
Then again the tour is for them and not us, so I suppose they want to play the cool niche places and not the cookie cutter arenas. Maybe I'm just p/o'ed that I didn't get a ticket

I think that's the point. Along with the "tour all of Canada thing" they wanted to make it really a moreso Canadianna experience - e.g. small venues in small places - to an extent. Places that don't necessarily get to see them or any of the "bigger bands" in concert.

But there's a certain piece of Canadiana that they very well could be missing... ME!!! How can you truely see this country and say you've seen Canada and met its people without performing for ME?

Have you ever seen them live? Myself, I haven't (yet...next Friday). I saw clips of them performing at the Grammy's, MuchMusic, and Conan, was impressed. I'm really looking forward to the show.

I saw them live in Vanvouver a couple of years back and it was one of the best shows I've seen. I was annoyed actually when they announced the Saddledome as their Calgary location. I would have preferred to see them in a smaller venue again. I just hope they're as good in an Arena as they were in an auditorium.

Here's a really good video of them live in Sydney, doing "Death Letter", one of their best covers.

Anyone here going to the concert in Calgary on the 29th (IIRC)?
I went to the Vancouver show Sunday and they sounded great, however the fact that they only played for 1 hour 20 minutes was a big disappointment.
Anyway, my girlfriend wanted a red penguin shirt from the show, but we were shut out. If anyone is going to the show and would like to help me score huge points to put towards undisturbed hockey watching next season by picking me up a shirt (I'll pay a not too unreasonable premium) could you please PM me.
