If you want to shuttle Wolf back and forth to the AHL to keep him playing, then you are conceding that you need to keep Vladar as the 3rd goalie for when Wolf is gone. So that is really your strategy?

Way to really show your top prospect how valuable he is. Make him wait to the last game of the season last year to get any playing time. Continue to shuffle him down to the minors this coming year. Really showing confidence in him. Especially considering how mediocre/abysmal the teams goaltending was last season.

As I already mentioned Wolf is waiver exempt and the Flames farm team is in Calgary meaning he can freely move between the AHL and NHL. This allows him to play tons of hockey and get NHL experience. This is great for his develop and doesn’t force them to make a trade they probably don’t like. Why wouldn’t Conroy take advantage of that?

In your ideal scenario we trade Vladar (for pennies) and then have Wolf ride the bench in the NHL for 50 games? That is the situation that reduces his playing time, not the one I suggested.

You don’t think Conroy and the management team is having open and honest conversations with Wolf about his development? You don’t think he’s in the loop on what is happening?

I'm sure the broadcasts themselves are not as bad, but here we have high danger chances, and big plays which make it hard to watch for 10mins straight. I'm sure if she listened to the whole highlights she'd cringe a bit too.

The regularity of the Wolf Howl after big saves seemed too much as well. Yet I'm sure that if I heard it a couple of times during a game I'd be okay with it.

The highlights show what is wrong with Markstrom and what makes Wolf so good and why I think he could steal the net this season.

Markstrom dives at pucks and makes easy saves look hard for no reason.

Wolf lets the puck hit him and makes the easy calming save to kill the play and also makes the spectacular saves that really are spectacular.

Something about a goalie who can calm the team down and just make things seem simple while another is erratic at times.

Mango is one of the awesomest humans I've ever met. Some nerd doesn't like her voice (and its always about being a female, for sure, zero doubt). That crap does not deserve cleverness from me. Hell, there's a whole thread about how great a recently deceased announcer was who's entire schtick was high pitched over the top calls.

Agree fully, Markstrom played like he was getting peppered with shots from the slot. Meanwhile the Puck is in the corner, behind the net or already exiting the zone. Just brutal over anticipation from him in most games.

Not liking someone's voice on pbp =/= sexism, or even an attack on that person's character until such motivations are uncovered beyond simply not liking the fit and stating such.

She may be an awesome human and i bet she is too, but being awesome people doesn't and really shouldn't make us immune to honest opinions, unfounded or not.

I would side with Fotze if he just worded it as "I vehemently disagree, she's an awesome person and is great in the role."

But instead he went from 0-100 and attempted to be as personally insulting as possible, instead of just criticizing the post itself which is the high road and the right road to take in this instance.

It's behaviour like that which needs to go and it can if every poster would (to borrow from the doll lookin' fellow up the road) to a man just take a moment and breathe before hitting send on these reactionary posts.

If we want an enjoyable forum to visit this season when we inevitably disagree on things we need to each do our part to improve the experience.

I'm not gonna lie. I'm probably in the minority, but I really liked his fight calls. They were goofy as hell, and 200% hyperbole... but it was always energetic and had it's own entertainment value. I think it's better when the announcers have a little character. Even if it is that of a WWE announcer.

I think Dustin Wolf is a very good hockey goalie for his age and level of competition. As a fan of the Calgary Flames, I hope he continues to perform well for the club in the coming year.
