Christ. Just expand the Copa already to include all Americas and be done with it.

Basically doing it next year anyway.

Happy for Panama and great to see that they did what Canada couldn’t and ruin the USA-Mexico party

Fack.

Panamanian defender has to take a red card there at midfield.

I agree you have to foul him there. Take the red and live to play in extra time.

Ike Ugbo got the start for Cardiff as they opened their Championship campaign and got a goal and an assist

Some news from last week, Canada playing a friendly vs Japan in the October window.
Team sits idle in the September window becuase of funding.

Herdman along with the Forge coach, interviewing for the TFC job. More then likely just getting an idea of various coaching philosophies and due diligence, but interesting none the less.

On a side note, none of us here could've done a worse job as interim manager then Terry Dunfield, who's collected 0 points out of 18 in his TFC coaching gig. I know he played TFC and Canada etc, but even if he's 5x as insightful as he is on commentary as a coach, it's not surprising they are 0-6-0 under his guidance.

Dunfield was baffling. The guy seems constantly confused about what's going on on the field when he's not playing.

1. I don't blame Herdman if he wants to leave. Seems like nothing but drama (and lack of money) at CSA.

2. Canada MNT is finished without him both battling CSA incompetence and fostering a team culture.

WC 2026 might be painful to watch.

Though I don't doubt that Bontis and cronies sucked as much as they could out of the coffers on their way out, there wasn't much. Opportunistic people that created the CSB saw a way to profit of the malpractice and disorganized CSA who couldn't do anything business wise.

But financial issues (and all other CSA issues) now were always there, there just hasn't been the spotlight on the MNT to allow an audience to see them.

To that, the MNT in a release is allegeding CSA is threatening to pull more games if the MNT doesn't signoff on reduced pay.
And they still haven't gotten paid for the WC.

End of an era. He was exactly what Canada needed to motivate players to play for Canada then get to the WC.

Not sure we can upgrade on him. Unless it's Ancelotti, who apparently has some Canadian connections.

I'm not the biggest Herdman fan after the world cup but we are in trouble finding anyone as good or better.

Also F TFC, trash club has done nothing to help the national team or Canadian players.

Herdman was far and away the best thing to happen to the men's national team, and he should be lauded for what he accomplished. I get why he would wanted out, given the financial realities of the national teams in this country, but him leaving without getting through the 2026 World Cup leaves a really bitter taste in my mouth.

RIP The Brotherhood 2018-2023.

He was going to go to club soccer at some point to test himself in that week in, week out arena.

Thank you John. You made this country believe again.

How bad is Canada soccer that TFC is a more appealing job? They’ve scored 5 goals in the last 3 months!

Now what? Anyone hear any names out there yet? I could see them interested in Jimmy Brennan which I don’t completely hate, but that’s just me spitballing

If he's as smart as he sounds on TV, a big no thanks there.

Wouldn't shock me: They roll out Floro in a wheelchair.

If you can handle coaching one of the greatest players of all time in Kyle Bekker (I know this is true because Kyle's mom keeps messaging me telling me it is when I boo him), then you can definitely handle Alphonso Davies.
