I wouldn't mind Konecny for Hanifin. Maybe a little retention on their end to help make the cap.

Agree that Columbus is deep on lhd, however there is a scenario where Columbus could still acquire Hanifin.
They will have some roster decisions to make, and some of them would involve losing players to waivers. As a result, Columbus could offer up a package deal and upgrade on d and avoid losing players to waivers. Now I’m not advocating a deal for hanifin centered around waiver fodder, rather some of their younger nhl ready talent what would allow them to keep their prospects who require waivers on their roster and avoid losing assets. Columbus has some interesting pieces. Probably bit not a front runner but still a possibility

But yes Marchenko is a beast, nightly.
|
Agreed. I was just making a light hearted joke.
Ruzika was good for a stretch last year and perhaps a new coach/new environment can see him play to that level consistently, or more consistently. That said, the analysis on this player has been consistently issues from day 1. I’m not holding my breath.
I would take Marchenko over Ruzika, easy.

I don’t have enough time to watch every single Columbus game and every single Flames game to evaluate both players like you do so I will take your word for it.
The Columbus player, who is dangerous every time he is on the ice averaged 0.42 PPG last year and over half his points came with some scrub named Gaudreau
Ruzicka averaged 0.45 PPG last year but he was not stuck playing with some scrub named Gaudreau.

Hanifin won’t extend in Columbus either. If we wanted to grab Columbus pieces we likely would have had to drop the price a little. And then they got Provorov. The only way we trade with Columbus is if Lindholm is going the other way.

He may not extend in Columbus, but it would give Columbus an asset they could turn into pure futures, something that we are loathe to do.
We get nhl ready players for a player who won’t extend, Columbus gets a player they can parlay into futures and avoid losing players to waivers. That’s the premise for any deal with Columbus.

Lol. Did you see 1 Columbus game? The poster’s opinion is that Marchenko is a better player. Are you of the view they are roughly the same?
Marchenko scored 21 goals in 59 games. There are good reasons to like that player more than Ruzicka. And I am hopeful for Ruzicka.

Not to mention that the guy has been playing in NA for less than a year.
Most guys dont adjust that quickly. His numbers are pretty impressive actually.

Yeah, count me into the camp that would be pretty excited to see Marchenko in the return.
Big player, beautiful shot.
It is crazy to look at Columbus' system. It is loaded with young talent. I understand why Hanifin would make a lot of sense for them. He would make the perfect (eventual) partner for Jiricek.

That's the same as posting "nobody is saying flames and Nashville are working on a trade for hanifin". Like literally the same, that guy just makes things up.

He needs to check pro hockey rumors on Twitter more frequently so he can stay up to speed.

Donakoi retired after just 7 seasons due to concussions.
He was good, usually scored against the Flames. I wish him the best.

Nashville would be a good team to work with, as they have a surplus of good, young talent in various stages of development.

Found this on Twitter. We are talking to Dallas about Hanifin.
https://twitter.com/krufrank/status/...7Ctwgr%5Etweet
Apparently this guy knows nhl people/scouts and throws out things he hears.
Looking at Dallas’ roster, Found it interesting that Radek Faksa has a 5 team ntc. Usually you see more.
Could be something. Could be nothing. But we are 2 weeks away from start of camp, would be nice to have a good deal done before then.

Guy knows his comics. We'll see how his hockey predictions turn out. Maybe the Score was onto something. Faksa, Bourque and a 1st for Hanifin.

Terrible. A 29 year old depth player we don't need, a prospect that projects as a 3rd line C, and a late 1st. No thanks. We can do better than that I would hope.

Oettinger for [Hanifin and Markstrom].
1 for 1. That's the trade.

Faksa is a bit mediocre at this stage, and I think they've been looking to move him for the last season or two. He's ok, but not as the primary asset in a Hanifin trade.
Bourque is also ok- he's got the offense, but he's yet another small forward. I think we can get a little better in a trade for Hanifin.
