I feel like you're actually dumb enough to need an answer to this: no, it's not fair. Their disdain for oil and gas development comes from a place of caring and concern for people and the earth. Your disdain for renewables is nothing more than a childish counter reaction.

I think people who are 100% opposed to oil and gas development are misguided but I understand why. Climate change is real and scary as hell. We need our oil and gas companies to change practices and become more climate responsible, while also getting us critical energy and petrochemical products. And by and large they are making those changes- many of them by investing heavily in renewable. Just because you like oil and gas does not mean you must abhor renewable energy, Nimrod.
