What a flip of reversal for TB
Start with the best record ever for the first months
Now they have lost their entire starting 5 SPs to injury - 3 to TJ, and their best young players career might be over

With how quickly he was pulled from the lineup and with no peep from the PA you knew there was something serious going on. Good riddance d-bag.
With the way his contract was laid out he hasn't received any really big cash yet. And likely heavily indebted himself borrowing against the remaining years to start living that lifestyle. So he's going to be in a world of hurt any way it shakes down.
Selfishly, my best ever baseball card pull was a Wander Franco numbered RC. That sucker is not going to be worth a thing anymore.

Things you love to see. The Yankees have lost nine in a row for the first time since 1982.

Has to be the end for Boone right? Although it's not entirely his fault. That's an aging and injured team.

Mike Trout returning to IL with wrist injury 1 day after being activated. He’s not even a top 15 player in the league anymore.
Sad what injuries have done to his career. Playing for a #### organization doesn’t do any favours either.

The Ohtani news is heartbreaking. I don't know how, but its somehow the Angels fault. What a garbage organization.

It's crazy how many pitchers are needing TJ surgery. You have to wonder what the root cause of it is because it's definitely becoming a huge problem in baseball. I wonder if it's because we aren't giving arms proper time to rest in off seasons as players grow up playing minor league baseball. I know there is pitch caps in place now but it doesn't seem to be helping.

Stephen Strasburg is retiring. Unreal talent that had his career taken away way too early. I’ll never forget the early years. He was must watch TV.

Trying to overpower and strike out everyone. There are no Mark Buehrle's anymore. Everyone throws 95 all the time. 90 mph breaking balls are not good for your elbows.

Yeah, it didn't seem like that long ago that MLB teams might only have one or two starters throwing over 90. My kid was playing travel ball with a though of trying to pitch in college at one point. Watching kids from these travel teams sign, every single kid going D1 is throwing over 90mph in high school now, and none are less than about 6'2. Pitchers are turning into disposable, annoymous flame throwers who aren't having long careers. It's ruined a lot of the enjoyment of baseball to

Not to mention the extra torque required for spin rate on the fastball. It's funny how in an era of overly concerned pitch counts and rest days that more pitchers are getting hurt and more seriously.
Adnan Virk was just on the radio and mentioned that Strasburg has only thrown 528 pitches since he signed that massive contract. And broke it down that it was over $400000 a pitch that he's thrown. Unreal lol.

Yeah, he's only pitched in 8 games since signing that 7 year contract.
The option worked out perfectly to coincide with the only year he would have exercised it as it was the year after winning the WS MVP.
Sounds like they have a settlement to pay maybe a little less than what is owed or defer some as part of him retiring.

It's these cutters and focus on spin rates that's making these guys into running backs. Used to be if you threw 95 and straight, it was hard to hit. Now guys need late movement to avoid having 3 straight hit into the bleachers. A guy like Greg Maddux might not even get into junior college now.
Guy I play ball with has a 17 year old attending the academy in Okotooks. They recruited him entirely on size and body type. He's like 6'-3 and by year end was up to 90, and looking to add another 5-6 over the course of the year. We manufacture athletes nowadays.
