This was inevitable after he turned around outside Moscow. Surprised it was so blatant, thought he would die some time soon but inconspicuously, like illness or window.

Ukraine is still under attack, and that doesn’t appear to be changing any time soon, so I’m not exactly celebrating right now.

It will be interesting to see what happens with the Wagner fighters in Belarus, as well as in Africa. If the rumour is true, they lost two of their head guys. Do they have the command structure and can experienced guys take over? Will they be getting paid?
If they are not getting paid, it could only be matter of time until those criminals and thrill killers start pillaging where ever they can.

At least they're a close border away. Let's take a moment to laugh at the Wagner guys who are fighting in Africa right now.

So looks like Putin ordered military to shoot down Pringle's plane based on shrapnel damage and western intel. Russian VKS airborne special forces transports are apparently heading to Belarus to mop up remaining Wagners, and Russian MoD has been given permission to purge remaining Surovikin affiliated military leaders.

Hilarious only because it was so stupid to not see coming. If I was Wagner the moment the coup failed I would have ran and fast. I am sure lots of piano wire will be used tonight

Sounds like a raid on an s-400 installation. I know nothing about these things but that would now make Crimea much more risky to fly from

Here is the original announcement for Russia (the US had expected the war to start within days, but Russia delayed at the request of China due to the olympics)

Just quoting my post from earlier. With the death of Prighozin and Utkin confirmed, and with Biden's 'not surprised' remark, US intelligence has been crazy good in knowing an imminent major event is to occur. Belarus has been cutting off internet access to Wagner locations in the hopes to interfere with their communication.
If you are a force of mercenaries who marched on to Moscow, and your 2 leaders just got shot from the sky after appearing to make amends, you must feel like you have a crosshair on you. It will be interesting to see what they do...or what they are capable off if they have any semblance of leadership structure remaining. I think their best opportunity was when they marched on Moscow when they had heavy equipment at their disposal. At this point they are dead man walking, but they can do some damage, and many are still stationed in Belarus right now.

I often wonder if Wagner has the same level of loyalty as the great mercenary army ever, The Foreign Legion.
Will Wagner fight for Wagner.

Dmitri Alperovich just released another Geopolitics Decanted episode specifically about this with Wagner expert Jack Margolin. Sounds like with Utkin and Prigozhin gone, the money ain't gonna be there. These guys are 95% money motivated and will not march to their death for revenge.
My hot take based on nothing is that they're too valuable a regime change/money making resource for the despot global elite to just let Shoigu reintegrate then so I think they all disperse into various international paramilitary groups
