Saw a kid in a high school match have a pretty amazing par the other day. Par 5 - about 530 yards. His tee shot is the black line. He had about 220-230 in and went for it with 3 wood. His first attempt went were the red line was. Over the trees on the fairway he was playing, completely crossed the fairway beside and ended up OB on a hole that has no OB!
So has to re-hit and stripes it to the green and one putts for a par!

Has anyone seen any hats with a magnetic ball marker on the brim? Probably about 15 years ago Ping was making hats that had a magnet in the brim and you could place your ball marker up there and I thought it was awesome but those hats disappeared. I had two of them and one was even a co-branded Flames hat which was really cool. I want one of those again.

I have this one from Pins & Aces. Not sure if all their hats have the magnet, need to check the description of each hat.
Priddis Cup starts on Friday, with a 3-day, Ryder Cup format. And round one matches (best ball) will include an EPIC CP battle, pitting Yours Truly against the vilest of vile opponents - the one you call: Slava!
Despite the fact that my bold and brave partner and I will have to gift Slava and his loathsome cohort some ridiculous number of strokes, due to their incessant and pathetic sand-bagging throughout the year, we shall no doubt prove ourselves righteous, glory will be bestowed upon us, and victory will be ours to savour!

Might head out and shoot a cool 120 tomorrow night, just to get the handicap ratcheted up for you! I haven't seen any of the matchups or anything yet, but I'd love to take you down!

... You're going to have to get a lot of rounds in in 2 days if you're going to sandbag your handicap by Friday.

especially since they're already locked in for the event!
Obviously, Slava knows he's in for a good ole' ass-whooping, and is just looking for ways out at this point
I just saw the draw, and can't wait to start the weekend with a win. Didn't I already carry you to a win once this summer? Surely you know what you're in for!
(Also, has there ever been a better ad campaign than Terry Tate, office linebacker?)

What's the group consensus on battery powered mobility contraptions on the course? These seem to be proliferating by the day now.
These Finn scooters are being trialed at McCall Lake this for $30 a round. Kind of look cool to be honest.
I saw one of these of these Alphards running around last week - basically an electric motor add on to a cart that the golfer controls with a remote in their pocket. A 20yr old with a 300 yd drive was rockin' this....
Finally there was this monstrosity from a group of 16-20 yr old guy/girls (2 foursomes playing as 1 group at McCall. One of the guys had this and said he picked it up in China, Probably on Alibaba. I suppose my take on this was colored by the Bluetooth speaker you could hear a group ahead he had clipped to this....
(yeah, yeah, I do realize this post sounds like an OK Boomer moment...)

The electric push carts are pretty common at my course. I don't really have an issue with them, they seem a nice way to walk the course without having to carry or push clubs.
My son and I did play with an old guy a while ago with one that was acting up all day on him. It seemed to have a little too much torque and was popping wheelies that were handled by the back wheels ok for most of the round, and then it was going up a hill and did a back flip and threw his clubs, balls, and tees all over the fairway. I stepped in and tried to help gather up things, and the guy went for his bag and cart that was spinning in circles on the ground still, and it took the old guy down.
So I dropped the clubs and balls, and went over to try to help him, and he managed to push the cart back upright while he was still on the ground and the cart took a straight line to the woods. He got up to go after, stumbled and face planted. I had to decide between helping him or going after the cart, and asked him if he was ok, and he said, I'm fine, so I ran after the bag and cart and was able to stop it and then got back to him picking himself up off the ground without too much damage but some bloody scrapes.
I have an electric push cart and while it's fine, I never use it. Honestly, I just carry and it's more convenient in my opinion. I know tons of people with them, and they seem fine though.
I'm not sure about the scooters and such. I was at a course in the US and a friend of mine rented a scooter. Seemed fine, but I don't know if there's much of an advantage there. Maybe you can just go to your ball and not worry about other people.
I bought one of these during COVID and haven't looked back. Awesome for getting around the course and the community. Just a blast and always a head turner to outside play.
Only problem I have is when I travel I have to swap clubs to a travel bag. Some give and take with any solution I guess.

I’ve had an original golfboard since they were released.
It’s a great way to get around especially if on my lunch hour. Can arrive at the course, play 9 and be back at work in 45mins at my rural course. Also is quite handy for mens night just in case I’ve had an extra beer.
Besides all of that the golf boards are easier on the course compared to traditional carts (way lighter). They are just easy and fun to ride. I spend less time thinking by about my previous crappy shot when I am riding versus when I walk or cart. They do say it shave time on a round if everyone had one as you can all go to your ball. Honestly this might be true in theory but you end up “surfing” more so the difference isn’t probably too much
