Do you guys remember when we used to watch hockey and get to talk about the game as it was happening and after? Those were good times!

That was 2 superstars and a another leading scorer ago. The team is now is a shell of that team.

THAT team also had a terrible season in the Canadian div

Last years team with good Markstrom would have been over 100 points

Do you know what correlation means?

Except GTs and PGTs were filled with posts which were not about the game.

You can tell it's near the end of August, every year everyone gets snappy from hockey withdrawal.

Thanks teach!

I was responding to posts saying the team wasn't all that good in that phase.

Lol it's getting wild in here!

It's the last 10 days of August, time to sneak in a few days at a lake, another round or 2 of golf then send the kids to school and presto there will be actual hockey talk and guys on the ice!!!

I was actually thinking about 2 trade and I would appreciate your take on them:
1. Coleman is the better player than Garland IMO, but he's signed for a year longer and he's himself 4 years older. Garland also usually puts up more points, and I believe he's a right shot RW.
To CGY : Garland
To VAN: Coleman

2. If Backlund doesn't want to be here, Gourde is a similar player signed for 2 more years. Dube is the better player than Tolvanen IMO, but they have a similar trajectory and potential.
To CGY: Gourde + Tolvanen
To SEA: Backlund + Dube

Okay let me have it, who says no?

Backlund and Coleman might say no. Coleman has a full NTC and Backlund can list 10 team, whichy could easily be manipulated to give him pretty much a full veto. If Backs wants a cup, Seattle isn't his destination. He probably wants a team that will extend him into a decent cup winning window as a 2-3C. Gourde might also. He has basically a 9 team NTC.

Seattle isn't making a move unless it seriously improves them at the top end IMO. They don't really need depth guys like Coleman and Backlund. They need a star. Beniers may not pan out.

Yeah it's hard to tell with NTC. But I think strictly from a value/need perspective the trades make sense. I think Seattle can take another step this year, but it's too early to tell.
