I got incredibly lucky. Was on since 5:30, in the queue for over an hour and somehow got lessons at the same place (which is 5 minutes from our house) at the same time for both kids.

For whatever reason it seemed like going into Chrome incognito worked much better. Using a normal tab never put me past "over an hour" for waiting time.

Interesting. We had multiple sessions going (wife's computer, my computer, phones) and they came through at very different times even though we entered within 1 second of each other.

We got some with our kids at offset times at a pool inconveniently located to our home, so that's better than nothing.

I've actually found the City of Calgary to be the best when it comes to swimming lessons and never had an issue. We go to Southland, so maybe that's just less popular than other places. It's also only preschool lessons, so that could be something else too?

FYI, you can show up at any time between 5:30 and 6:00 and then everyone in the pool (great pun) at that time gets randomly sorted into a line. I usually have to wait around an hour is seems but the classes I'm picking always have several spots remaining when it's my turn. Showing up at 5:31 and 5:59 are equivalent.

I've had quite a different experience...

Last time I ran multiple browsers and their place in line was in the order I clicked through, but it's possible that's just a coincidence (and it wasn't true this time). Still it took me from 5:30 AM until nearly 8AM to register for like my 9th choice. Even if I should have started at 5:59 AM that seems less than ideal.

This morning I was opening and closing Chrome incognito tabs every few seconds and it didn't seem to affect my place in the queue. Meanwhile the original tabs I had open in Chrome and Edge right at 6 didn't seem to progress past the "more than an hour" part. I'm probably missing something in the queue process or got lucky as hell in my placement but showing up early didn't seem to help at all

Maybe Thornhill isn't popular either but I was shocked to see a couple of spots still available for the lessons I wanted after over an hour of waiting.

Thornhill always seems to have spots open - that's where we ended up last time. No complaints about it at all, other than the drive from where I live.
