I think you are missing the point, most people agree with your points but the problem is a bubble team is the worst spot to be in.

I don't think anyone, or at least very few, people think this is one of the worst teams in the league, the exact opposite we seem to be on the low side of the mediocre teams in the league with little to no hope/reason to think we are jumping up to the contender level.

Nope. The team was garbage last year. If we squeak in we honesty dont see game 7 of the first round. And you wouldn't have to have watched every game to understand that. We were that bad! It was unwatchable hockey.

Anyone who thinks we coulda done some damage in the playoffs if we got in needs a brain scan.

You're still confusing what is fact vs. What is actually just an opinion. It's semantics but very important to differentiate the two.

Your opinion does not equate to a fact.

A fact is : The Flames did not make the playoffs. Frankly nothing else matters after that. Even the whataboutism about only missing by 3 points or if they had better goaltending matters.

Any further expounding on the subject is a waste of time.

There's no "facts" when your point is being made out of thin air about a reality that never occurred. Hence why it's only an opinion and not a fact.

It does matter when predicting how they might do this season with improvement in those areas. Or should we just hand Vegas the cup because everything will be exactly the same?

If Markstrom played better or if Sutter gave the skilled players more ice time they probably could have won two games.

I know I'm certainly not claiming last years rendition of the Flames were bound to go on a deep playoff run had they gotten in. That doesn't mean I don't think they can be better this year.

Well, nothing is the exact same is it. Sure some of the important players are still the same, but how can anybody predict with any certainty how a team will fare when there's been so much turnover throughput the entire organization or league for that matter.

I sure as hell can't and won't. But I'll be happy to watch it all unfold.

Point is, there's reasons to be doubtful and good reasons to be hopeful.
