Well, he does seem to like picking at you too

And yes, agree entirely with the last part.

Picking at me is fair game, I’ve usually done something to deserve it

I have family camping on the arrow lakes right now and they say it's legitimately the lowest they've ever seen the reservoir. I'll try to get some pictures from them.

I just take UCB's schtick as a running joke that he's very dedicated to keeping going. Interpreting that as cheering for or being indifferent to people having their lives ruined by wildfires is kinda nuts.

Sorry UCB, struggling with mental health lately (like a lot of people). I cut back on drinking and it feels like that just makes the few times I do drink turn into more beers than I'd normally have.

Then? ****posting, I guess, haha.

It would be interesting to see the data and how this year compares to others. While it has undoubtable been bad in terms of lack of rain this summer seems much better (to me) than the past few in terms of smoke. We've had a few days where it was very bad but the rest has been irritating at best. Some days smoky, then clearing for a few days. Two years ago IIRC it was literally weeks on end of smoke, or so it seemed.

We can and should do WAY better
You may be right about this. Governments and people are never going to agree on a solution, but eventually one will be forced on us whether we like it or not.

The weird thing about my ****posting is most of the time it's supposed to come off as two buddies ripping each other like me and my friends in real life, but then I read it the next day and the responses and kind of go "woah, that looks way more serious and agitated than I thought", lol.

It's easy enough to misunderstand peoples' intentions when you actually have the benefit of tone and behavioural and facial cues for context... when it's just text online, usually typed in off the cuff without much thought? Forget about it.

... or maybe I just have horrible social intelligence...

(my tone is light and I am smiling*, this is intended as a joke to lighten the mood)

*not actually, I’m just blankly staring at my phone and thinking of smiling

I guess I'm naive thinking the impact of climate change would be more subtle and gradual than this.

How can we live like this?
I've lived here all my life and yeah, its been since, I think 2015 that its been this bad?

I feel like we're the frog in the water thats gradually being heated and it seems like we dont notice it.

Its just a few smoky hours...its alright.

Its just a few smoky days...its alright.

Half of Canada is on fire....we're still good...

California is going to get smoked by a Hurricane...its still good...

Aren't they supposed to be typhoons when they're on the Pacific side?

He who is without sin cast the first stone.

All good.

I'm sorry to hear you are struggling with some mental health issues.

I have family that do as well and I have earlier in my life. I hope that things get better for you.

Typhon is used in the northwest Pacific. Anything near NA is a Hurricane.
