Default Cirque de Soleil - What shows have you seen?

Going to Vegas in September for a short trip and will probably only have time to see one Cirque show. The options seem to be:
  • Love
  • O
  • Ka
  • Mystere
  • Zumanity
Any advice on which show is best from those who have seen them in Vegas (or elsewhere) before? Also - is it worth it to try and get the best seats available, or can you go for something a little cheaper with fairly good results?

I saw Zumanity. I have never been to any other shows so I can't compare, but I really enjoyed the Zumanity show. If you like naked gymnists, you'll like Zumanity.

I saw Ka in early March from roughly Row 5, dead centre . . . . . a pretty fantastic vantage point for a pretty fantastic, almost incredible spectacle.

The seats were probably considered too close which might have explained their availability but I'd go for it if I were you . . . . about $350 USA for two seats. Worth the money frankly. You might as well get your nose right in the middle of it, see people flying over your head, climbing sloped walls only a few yards away, facial expressions, costumes, athleticism, etc, etc . . .

A few years ago, I saw Mystere from the second deck. Very good but the close up of Ka beat it hands down.

I've seen Alegria, Corteo, Ka, La Nouba, Mystere, O, Quidam, Varekai and Zumanity. Delerium is next on the agenda as it rolls through Phoenix in May. My favorite of the Vagas shows was definitely Ka, and for Cirque Du Solei noobs, it is a great introduction to this style of entertainment. I would highly recommend this show. After this, take in Zumanity, if its you and your wife/girl friend. It's a couples show, and is outrageously entertaining, featuring a burlesque quality that makes it unique. Mystere was excellent as well and a close second to Ka in quality, but I found it had some down spots in it that didn't keep your attention. O was not worthy of the hype, nor the inflated price IMO. I found it to be boring at times, and I was checking my watch.

Seriously, if there ONE show you have to take in while you are in Vegas it is Celine Dion. I kid you not. My wife dragged me kicking and screaming and I was blown away. That show was perfect in every way, and it seemed like it was 45 minutes long, when in reality it was over 2 and a half. The show is produced by Dragone, who used to be part of Cirque Du Solei, so it is as visually stunning as it is to the ears. I'm not into that genre of music by any stretch of the imagination, but after seeing that show, I'm now a fan. The skinny french chick has got it going on! Plus, Caesars runs a deal wher you can get tickets and a dinner for two at any of their restaurants, and it becomes an evening you won't soon forget.

I saw Zumanity and really enjoyed it. It is a little "out there" but definitely entertaining.

Side note on the Celine Dion show: Today's Herald (sorry no linky) says she is winding up her commitment and Bette Midler takes over next year. Just when you thought it couldn't get worse.

For 'O' get the "Limited View" seats. There's a little railing in front of the seats that doesn't really block anything. They're centered right in the front of the second level which is a really good spot, not too close and not too far.

Saw Mystere and was blown away. Can't compare it as it's the only one I've seen. The physical feats were unreal. Elton John's show at Caesar's rocked, but the best I've seen there was good old Billy Idol at the Joint in the Hard Rock hotel.

I've seen two shows... Alegria and Delerium. I enjoyed Alegria better than Delerium, but both were fantastic. I have yet to see any Vegas shows, but I think that'll be my next trip, and I look forward to seeing at least one then!

I've seen O, Mystere, Zumanity.
I liked O best, Mystere next, and Zumanity was a little different.

I must say I did enjoy Blue Man Group more than those shows though.

I saw "La Rev" in Vegas at the Wynn.
Not sure if they still show it, but it was pretty cool. It's the one with the water. If you go, don't sit in the front few rows or you'll get soaked.

I stayed at the MGM Grand last week, and on the TV they have a channel devoted to advertising KA. They show some practice footage and do a lot of interviews.

Being there with a group of guys on a hockey trip, we didn't have much on the agenda besides drinking, gambling, hockey, and Cheetah Club. But all of us were commenting on how cool KA looked. I'll be going again with the gf in a couple months, and KA will on the top of a very short list of things to go to.

I'm pretty sure I'd have to be cuffed and carried if someone wanted to get me into Celine Dion, but the endorsement here was unexpected. Maybe I'll change my "when hell freezes over" stance.

I caught the "Delirium" show last Summer, went with my exgirlfriend's family, someone wasn't feeling well and they had an extra ticket. I had zero interest in seeing Cirque but thought I would be nice and pretended to be excited.

Yeah, the performers are extremely talented, yeah the women looked incredible. Some of the music wasn't that bad. But in the end I couldn't wrap my head around the idea of paying close to $200 for a ticket. It was basically a bunch of fruity crap. The hour after the show was me laying on the bull and naming parts of the show I thought were really cool.

I dunno, if the ticket was $10 I might go again. But only if I got free snacks.

I've seen Mystere, O and Quidam live plus I've seen a couple others on tv/dvd.

The stationary shows are better then the travelling shows because of the custom made theatres.

As for O or Mystere, I found Mystere more entertaining but O more thrilling because of the water factor. O also has an amazing soundtrack that I liked better then Mystere.

I was never really interested in seeing Delirium. Seeing a Cirque show in a huge arena for the same price as at a small theatre doesn't seem like a good deal to me. Part of the appeal of Cirque is how the show surrounds you. I don't think that can be done in an NHL rink.
