Send them a note saying you are going to return their money if it’s not picked up in the next 48 hrs. 10 days is unreasonable

Depends on how many offers he could get on the table.
Unless there is someone who wants the table and would pick it up right away, he would be in the same position he is now, but without the money.

Facebook Marketplace destroys Kijiji now, in terms of sales.
I always post the same ad on both platforms, and 95% of the time, I end up selling it on Facebook Marketplace with multiple inquiries, and not even a sniff on Kijiji.
It never used to be that way, but a definite balance of power shift in the last year or two.

Has anyone ever had someone send them a picture of them using the item after they bought it? I've had it twice now where the person was thankful for the free (or very low priced) item and sent me a picture.
Once was a tv wall mount. They sent me a picture of it on the wall with the TV mounted on it and the caption was "fits and works perfect" or something to that effect.
The other was a kids bike w/ training wheels. They sent me a pic of the kid riding the bike and said "thanks! She loves it".
Heartwarming seeing my un-needed item went to good use

No doubt about it. I have sold a fair amount of things over the past year and I would say almost all of it sold via Facebook Marketplace over Kijiji.

I've had that a few times too. I guess it makes a little more sense on Facebook Marketplace where some people use it as a primary means of social interaction.. I'd never think of contacting someone I purchased something from unless there was a problem.
Though I have felt like messaging the people who aren't even interested in the item I'm selling but message me anyway to tell me what's wrong with my ad (usually price is unreasonable) and let them know I sold it at my asking price.

One weird thing I get on Facebook Marketplace that I never got on Kijiji is random people from India messaging me to see if the item is still available and then never messaging back.
At first I thought it was just people that had maybe moved and hadn't updated Facebook, but it keeps happening, always the same pattern.
Maybe it's some kind of bot?

Yeah...thats actually kinda nice.
If you get correspondence from a kijiji buyer a few days after the transaction you're always worried its going to be problems or complaints, so to get something like that? Its a nice change of pace.

Marketplace has been a better platform for me to sell items on. The only thing I can't stand is the default "Is this still available" question that FB presents to buyers which means I have to go through and respond Yes to a dozen of these before I get anyone seriously interested. ######!!!

There's been a few times I've messaged people to suggest either corrections or improvements; obviously as appropriate and never rude. One time I went over to purchase an item which had been accidentally misrepresented and I helped them improve their posting (I didn't buy it) and they were grateful because they didn't know the first thing about what they were selling (ie electronic item bought on points 10yrs prior and never used... and they somehow thought it was a different/better version than they had). I think it's OK, sometimes, to offer to help if done with a kind heart and not being snarky or an ahole.

Yeah that was my fear, it was a fairly niche item.
Three days after sending them a message requesting they get it, however, they just got back to me and they'll be here in half and hour (the sudden expediency also annoys me )

When did people's definition of "brand new" or "never used" change?
Clearly some people have a different definition of those terms than I do.

Almost like new! Small stain and minor rip down entire leg. But mint condition otherwise!

My next ad will say "serious offers only, lowballs and stock responses will be ignored".

Or excellent condition, a few weeks back we were shopping for a used car for my kid. Ad said car was in excellent condition and there were multiple pictures in the ad, show up and the thing has the front bumper hanging off, rust throughout, we called the guy out and said this isn’t in excellent condition - his response was shock and said “oh really?”. It was so badly comical my wife and I just laughed and left immediately, pretty certain the guy used pics from another car, looked like this thing still had the auction mart markings in the window so he was trying to flip it. Hopefully he took a bath.

"Pick-up only in [community], absolutely no trades and no delivery" is my line, as lowballs get ignored by default anyway.
