It’s gotta be Huberdeau. He had an off year but the guy is a presence and can put up over a PPG. I don’t think Raz is the guy over him even thought I love Raz.

Weegar by a country mile. Best player on the team and also a strong presence off the ice.

What? No way. If its not Backlund, which it wont be, the next strongest candidate is Tanev.

Two guys with one year left each?

Yes, Because they've earned the consideration. When it comes to leadership, contract-length is a very, very small consideration.
If not them just hand it to Huberdeau and trade them all.

What? Contract length is a huge consideration in handing out captaincy. I don't know if it's ever been handed out to a player with one year remaining on their contract. And if you were going to hand it to a player with one year left, then it would be Backlund over Tanev, for sure.

Not sure Tanev is a good enough PR guy to be the captain.

Even if Tanev re-signs, I don’t see his body holding up for very long. The guy has LTIR written all over him IMO. I love Tanev, but unfortunately that’s where I think it goes for him sooner rather than later.

Anyone but Backlund.

Andersson is the right choice. That's the personality we want leading the way. Someone who gets fired up once in awhile.

Andersson and then Weegar for me.
Andersson talking to the refs and opposing captains would be gold.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

Andersson or Weager. In no way can you gift the lead of your team to Huberdeau. He has always been a follower. Excited about the original trade. Devastated by the signing. We are hooped for 8 more years.

I actually think you're right and can totally see Kadri taking it to another level if he gets the C.

Agreed. I am skeptical that his shoulder isn’t messed up long term

You can’t give it to Huberdeau after the #### season he just had. Not a good look.
