Wow, it's so much better than what I anticipated. It's a real drama, with deep and interesting themes about the modern human condition. If you brushed it off as some sort of cheap thrill, forget it. It's actually really interesting.
I thought it sounded ridiculous but gave it a try just to see what the hype was about fully expecting not to make it through the first episode. Then I kept watching until the series was over.
There's supposed to be a season 2 but there really shouldn't be.
Has anyone mentioned the final season of Jack Ryan? It was only 6 (I think?) episodes. It was pretty good, I thought.
Spoiler!
It kinda has a Ted Lasso vibe to it, in that everyone listens and makes the right decisions and things go fairly smoothly.
It's kinda like... how many times did I watch 24 and wish everyone else would just stfu and say, "Hey you know what? let's just listen to Jack. He seems to always be right and we always just seem to screw things up along the way." It's like, BOOM! Instead of being a 24 hour nightmare workday, the world's safe and everyone's home in time for supper.

The only issue I had with the series was with the American actors, they come across as cartoon villains in an otherwise very serious and well thought out show

I thought it was pretty meh. Forgettable and disappointing end to the show.

Season 2 of Minx is really good so far. I know it's tough to get attention on Starz, but it's one of the better shows I've watched this year for sure, and the story is a step up from the first season for sure if you watched it.

I agree. Season one felt too much like it was trying to shock the viewer with the nudity, and felt to me kind of forced. Season two has kind of toned that down a bit and it is more about the story. The support cast, in my opinion, is exceptional.

If everyone listened to Jack Bauer, the show would be called 12.

I enjoyed Jack Ryan seasons 1-3 but 4 was a disappointment. I liked how the early seasons were almost stand alone stories but 4 tried to tie everything together and was a bit of a mess. Didn't help they were also trying to set up a spin off and cut it to 6 episodes. Not great writing, for example thought the earlier seasons did a better job setting up the villains to give them some sympathy and nuance but this villain was just straight up cartoonish evil. Also the big climatic scene was a poor imitation of Sicario.

Yeah, have never heard of it or seen any online ads for it, either. Does Paramount have any free/discounted months for new subscribers like Disney/Apple often do? They have 7 free days with sign up on their direct site, but was wondering about promo codes for 1-3 months.

I'm not sure, but if you happen to have Walmart Plus, you get Paramount Plus for free. Walmart Plus does a 30-day free trial. That could be a way around it.

What streaming service is that? Is the content just like 'Shoppers of Walmart' security camera footage 24/7?
