That's a good deal all things considered. Dumba's underlying stats were flat out terrible last season. The 2 seasons before weren't great either. He needs to perform this year I would think to get a decent multi-year deal own the road.

In the context of the Coyotes, it’s not a bad deal. Cap space isn’t an issue and no long term commitment. I don’t expect him to do much after last season though. He has been trending down for a bit.
Worst case scenario is that he is one and done.

Dumba was so dynamic on the Rebels. I was convinced he was going to a perennial All-Star.
He's carved out a decent career, but I can't see him having the impact I once thought he could.
Another reasonable contract for the Coyotes to sell at the deadline.

This seems pretty 'Last Chance Saloon' for Dumba.
He's got to have a great year and hope the cap jumps a lot or he's unemployed next year.
