- did I mention - amazing artists? This platform provides so many creative tools for humans to express themselves. It’s truly unbelievable what the human mind can imagine and create.

Yes u can get long form content on YouTube (YT is also one of the most influential platforms of our civilization) but these short form videos are addicting for a reason. They click with our human brains.

That said with any social media it can also be used inappropriately. That’s cuz People are terrible in general.

If u truly think TikTok is bad, you are being dogmatically close minded and haven’t really spent anytime understanding how to use it productively.

It’s no different than walking into a library without a purpose. You will be bored and not that impressed quickly but if you take the time to know how to use a library and have a purpose, it’s also very good.

Bottom line, you are being ignorant if u have a blanket claim that TT is bad. You may prefer other media inputs and that’s cool but TT in and of itself is amazing.

Alleged Chinese Spy stuff aside of course. I mean it’s not like your entire online existence isn’t already tracked, hacked and analyzed.

The social media book ecosystem (BookTok, BookTube, etc.) is basically the female-oriented counterpart of video game culture. The fans can be just as obsessive, the sub-cultures just as weird and entitled. In the very short time that I had it (during Covid), I saw enough animal abuse to know that it wasn’t for me. Deleted it before I saw anything really bad.

If those clips were sent in multiple emails then would that be harassment? Even though it's social media it's pretty much the same thing.

Why do you assume it's his wife that solely had an issue with it and not Wennberg? Are we downplaying it because he's a guy and he's expected to tune it out, or not have an issue with it?

If genders were reversed we both know there would be a lot more noise around it. Don't know why there's a different attitude when it's women speaking this way of men. You still want to scrub yourself with soap after hearing it.

Definitely would come off different from a guy doing it but there are often double standards for men and women for right or wrong. The women is clearly trying to be comedic. You can say it's vulgar or not funny but it's obviously light hearted. And with social media this would have blown over and people would be back to not even knowing who Wennberg is in a few days/weeks.

You realize probably every single public figure has had way worse said about them online? We can't police every single thing people say and do on the internet. This just seems quite low on the list of harassment on the internet.
