I honestly can’t tell what’s serious and satire anymore.

Pfizer basically held governments hostage and asked for a blank check. It’s price gouging and profiteering off of human misery and death.

They’re scum and they’ll always be scum. The heroes are the scientists who saved us, not the drug companies who saw the pandemic as a way to increase their stock price and increase their profit margins.

Aren't drug companies regulated by the government? I imagine they're playing by the rules, so lobby the government to have the rules changed. Don't hate the player, hate the game (capitalism). Lots of industries have few/large players who hold out-sized power, and we seem to be (legislatively) cool with that as a society. We have a for-profit medicine industry, this is what we get, demands that they make a profit.

We’ve tried nothing and we’re all out of ideas! But as long as we’re all cool with it, then I guess it’s fine. God forbid companies and the people who run them be expected to not be scum.

We needed companies like Pfizer to move the machine forward at a quick pace. They had the resources, expertise, manufacturing ability and lobby power to do so. There is a reason that a lot of Covid vaccines from small universities and companies are still far from being ready to roll out their versions.

Pfizer has its issues for sure but without them (and Moderna, J&J etc). It would have been a lot worse.

I am as big of a capitalist as you will ever meet and I wish every drug company would see their board members and C level employees shot into the sun

Umm, the scientists who saved us are employed by the drug companies.

My capacity to care about the well-being of strangers is exhausted.

Everybody’s got problems - do you care about mine? Exactly.

Good luck.

Let's not forget that the one pharma company that decided to distribute vaccines for no profit and at cost, was AZ and the vaccine developed at Oxford University.

People forget what happened with the perception with this shot. Yes there were some cases of side effects that caused devastating consequences for those poor people who were doing the right thing. It happened, it needs to be acknowledged and those people needed to be compensated in some regard.

The MRNA vaccines also had more than their fair share of issues if we are being honest. The campaign by some to discredit the Oxford/ AZ vaccine by the degree it was in the media, in the press, in the general population and by government's across the board was nothing short of insanity. It was relegated to ****hole country status in essence after being the workhorse of the UK's campaign and ended up being I believe the #1 or #2 used vaccine in the world.

Bottom line a lot of people got it wrong with this when you think about it. The AZ vaccine, like the MRNA shot's, small cases of side effects, was very effective at hospitalization and death and was being distributed in for like $3/4. That's the car equivalent someone's Civic being in the same category of performance of your Ferrari.

At some point in time or after, people will be judged about what some people's motives were in regards to this.

COVID has brought out the crazies and liars. I looked through a Twitter thread the theme of which is: Do you know anyone who regrets being unvaccinated? I replied “bull sh1t” to someone claiming to know seven people who died from vaccinations and another six who are very ill. A pro-vaxxer pointed out that millions of people have died and the numbers of deaths are far greater among unvaccinated.

I hate the division this has caused in our society.

I had three shots before getting mild Covid in 2022 and don’t regret them, but I have a friend who regrets getting his vaccinations. They triggered a rare brain disease that he and a few other victims are currently fighting with. His quality of life has gone way down...

How do know COVID caused a brain disease?

We have five shots and I’m grateful science is protecting us.

Not sure it caused it, but Covid revealed a bunch of people with brain disease.

Your friend likely had Covid, there's not a shred of evidence that the vaccine caused any neurological problems but there's plenty of people with these problems from having Covid.

It may be rare but there are a few shreds.

Those kind of numbers probably line up with a coincidence more than anything and it's more than possible they got Covid and didn't show the normal symptoms.

Good luck finding reliable statistics for covid when big Pharma is throwing billions of dollars at cooking the books:They are bribing government officials; their lobbyists are working around the clock getting them the laws they want; manipulating doctors and researchers; setting up phony third-party verification; spending hundreds of millions on each of the traditional media companies every year. The only thing these companies can really be relied on, is to lie as much as possible as often as possible, it is a core element of their business model. It was true before covid, during covid and you can bet they're working overtime dealing with the Fallout of covid.

Those Pfizer quacks were total d-bags.

Thank God those of us who aren’t evil had Moderna.

Nah, I'll come to GreenLantern's defence here. One of the last words anyone would use to describe me is 'conservative', and I'll freely admit that my capacity to care about the well-being of strangers is exhausted too. You can only care so hard for so long until you hit a hard limit, and in the last three years my limit was reached.

There's a big cohort of people out there whose drug of choice is propaganda, and it's going to result in material harm to themselves and to others, but I'm at a breaking point where as long as it affects them first? #### 'em. I am incapable of empathizing with them, I don't feel anger toward them, I don't feel sad for them: I feel nothing. They're lost causes that I don't give a #### about anymore.

People want to believe in conspiracy theories about Covid? As long as they don't come crawling for my help at any point in the future: fine, let 'em.

I'm so far past my capacity for compassion that it bleeds into my feelings about all sorts of societal ills. For example I couldn't care less about the junkies and alcoholics either. I don't feel pity or sympathy for the drug-addled zombies roaming the city. I've bought food for 'em and had it quite literally thrown back at me. If they're so far gone that all they give a #### about is their next hit, who am I to try to convince them otherwise? I'm not going to lift a finger to help them. At this point all I care about is not getting attacked or my car broken into.
