Nhltraderumors (always comes up on Instagram feed) says Pius Suter is on the Flames radar.

Pius Suter makes a lot of sense if Dube is about to be suspended for any participation in the WJC incident.

People have pushed against this suggestion in the past when I’ve brought it up, but what about Tomáš Tatar? 48 points last season, always with positive possession metrics. There’s no suggestion the Flames are interested in Tatar, but I would be if I was Craig Conroy.
That’s if we’re losing Dillon Dube and want a veteran forward.

Seems very likely we're going into the season with no signings and no trades. Can't make conroy feel very comfortable having only dealt with Toffoli.
What a dagger it would be to be out Dube too.

Wasn’t it reported that he wants to see what the dressing room is like? If so , he won’t be re-signing before season starts. If anybody needs to be traded before camp starts it’s hanifin. He has said he will not re-sign. It would be best for the team and him to not be distracted with this issue.

Athletics thoughts on Lindholm trade destinations
Not very much thought put into it.
Some very unrealistic destinations.
Most of their ideas don't come with any thoughts on possible returns.
Lazy writing at its finest from the Athletic.
Boston Bruins -
Carolina Hurricanes - Drury / Jarvis / Necas
Columbus Blue Jackets - Rosovic
Minnesota Wild - Rossi
Toronto Maple Leafs -
Vancouver Canucks -

Roslovic?
I would be livid.

Somebody posted a graphic a month or two back that shows that despite not putting up a ton of points, Pius Suter actually tips the ice in his teams favor possession-wise.

Our trade record with aging scoring wingers ain’t good. See Brouwer, Troy and Neal, James for reference.
Just because they may bring Lindholm back doesn’t mean Backlund or Hanifin won’t be dealt. Would much rather get a good young piece in any deal over signing a retread. If nothing on trade front, get a youngish player like Suter or Gregor to come in.

Our UFAs sure like to string along the organization. Don’t think they are really gaining much leverage by doing it. Pretty selfish in my mind. If you’ve been here as long as they have you know if you want to stay or not. You can look at the cap situation and figure out whether you’re going to get paid or not.
I’d bet their agents are trying to see what Conroy’s made of. Whether he will panic.

I’m not saying give the man 4 * 4.5 or 5 * 5.75. The man’s a UFA in August. It’s a 1-year deal for ~$1M. And the point would be to fill Dube’s minutes if he is suspended.
I’m definitely for trading Backlund and Hanifin for good young pieces. Certainly don’t disagree there.

The sexual assault incident involved 8 players from Team Canada's 2018 WJC team. Dube was the Captain of that team. Nobody really knows who those 8 players are, but it will be revealed soon. Alex Formenton was not issued a QO by the Sens before last season began, and many assume it's because he was one of the 8.

There was news from earlier this week that five NHL players would be facing suspensions for their involvement in the incident. No names in the media yet though.

I thought Formenton was issued a QO but then they just never signed him.

I wonder if Hanifin or Karlsson gets traded first. Leaning towards Karlsson

I may be mistaken but didn't Dube (or his representatives) say that he wasn't involved ?
Formenton hasn't commented at all on the situation, Katchouk, Batherson and McLeod stated they have cooperated with the investigation but didn't comment further. The rest of the players like Dube have stated that they weren't involved (according to the sporting news article)
Just a horrible event and have to feel for the victim. Hope she has received proper support through all of this. Should have never occurred.

Why not both? Some speculation that Pittsburgh will have to trade Patterson to SJ in a Karlsson deal, opening up a hole on their left side. So some have said Dubas could swing a deal for Hanifin in addition to Karlsson. Have to watch the buyout window this weekend. If Pittsburgh does a buyout, something is probably up.

It was a very legalese 'no wrongdoing' and 'cooperating with the investigation'.
