I'm in the same boat. I have to see my doctor every three months for a prescription review, even though the outcome is always the same. She asks how I'm feeling, I tell her I feel great and she prescribes another three months. There is zero reason I need to take time off work, take up space in her clinic and take up an appointment slot for this. Over Covid, these reviews were conducted over the phone and it was perfect.

I don't think it's a bad addition to the healthcare system. It makes things easier for patients and helps reduce the load on the offices. It's costing the same amount of money for the system at the end of the day.

The self-administered prostate check is a bit tricky at first until you figure out the alignment of the mirror. Helps to put the phone on a tripod as well.

For 162 bucks I can fly return in October to Winnipeg early morning and return at night for an afternoon Jets game. Has anyone done a day trip like that for 3 hours of flying combined in one day? Am I missing something is this not a good idea? I'd really prefer not to spend on a hotel if I can avoid it and the hockey game is at a perfect time to fly in and out the same day

Weather might be a concern, as far as delays go but October seems fairly low risk.
I flew to Vegas for 18 hours for a concert once. No hotel. Also allowed me to choose super cheap flight times. Would recommend. Except my plane there was delayed and that was a bit nerve wracking. Still made it with time to spare though.

I just did Vancouver a few weeks ago. Day trip with my son to arrange for a travel visa. Flew out at 7am, took the 7pm flight home. Winnipeg would have the time difference in your favor coming home too vs what I did. But not a big deal.
I worked with a guy who lived in Denver and would fly to Vegas with his buddies for the weekend. No hotel, just fly in Friday night and go hard until Sunday and come home.

I think I'm going to do it, I still have enough time to go to the game one last time before I move to Nova scotia, emotionally hug the arena walls in tears, then get back to the airport after having one last slice of my favorite pizza and an ice cream from BDI. I know that people won't be able to tell this because I'm using audio to text but my voice is choking up as I write this

So does he not sleep at all for an entire weekend, or does he pass out in a casino somewhere?

More of an observation than commentary.
I've got a dozen items for sale/sold this week on Facebook, all early 1900 antiques that I'm practically giving away cause they need a lot of work (more than I want to do).
Every single person who's expressed interest or bought them has been a 20 or 30 something woman, every one of them peppering me with questions on how best to go about accomplishing the project they want to accomplish (which is laughable cause I'm more of a shoot from the hip kind of guy)
My suspicion is Pinterest/Instagram how-to videos which always leave out the 20 hours (minimum) of stripping/sanding/re-gluing/etc.

Is there financial reward when someone is inducted into a hall of fame (hockey, music…)?

If you change the word ring to gun in Taylor Swift's "Love story" the ending becomes very dark and disturbing

Fifteen years and 11 days ago, The Dark Knight was released in theatres.
This was the last time a studio blockbuster captured the world’s imagination on the strength of its artistic merit.

Out of context, items I purchase for my job sound kind of naughty, when they're really not.
today's example - bone plugs

Alberta is a busy place now. I am not sure if it is because things felt less busy in 2020 and 2021, but damn there are no people rushing everywhere.

Is pig Latin doing it's rounds again like other random #### from my childhood, or has it always been a basic entry level "code" for elementary school students?
"oooyay ooopidstay!" *giggles*
I mean, it's a line in Lion King when the hyenas go, "Exnay on the oopidstay!"
As little ####s, the defacto most kids used against adults was, "Uckfay Ooyay enispay ickerlay."

Canada’s champion surrogate, from Calgary, has died at age 36. She helped over 100 families have children.
