Probably not a good sign if they are trading for a SS. That would have been bottom of the needs before yesterday. Hopefully it is just to cover for the short term.

Yeah, I guess I’ll wait to see what we gave up.

If we can raise the floor on Espinal, and still make some other moves for a big bat or two, then I’ll feel less deflated by this

DeJong does have some decent power which could be pretty helpful. He’s been a 30 home run hitter. Seems like a guy who is a bit of an all or nothing player…of which we seem to have a few of.

He strikes out a lot. Don’t think he’s likely to be super popular with the fans unless he finds his power and hits some important dingers.

Sounds like Dejong is done. Just waiting to hear about return.

Glass half full/empty with the Bo timing. Horrible timing as it likely changed the Jays plans today and may have raised prices.

Great timing in that if that injury happens one day later, we can’t address it.

Some solid stats for Svanson in high A but he isn’t considered a big prospect for the Jays.

If we couldn’t upgrade the offense, at least we supplant some of the loss of Bo’s bat by significantly upgrading the defense.
