Will watch S3 of OMITB, but I thought S2 was OK only, after a pretty great S1.

Heels season 2 kicked off yesterday after a long hiatus, that flashed back to the death of the boys father and the effect of that.

Its a really solid show, this one missed any wrestling action except to cover how Ace became a wrestler.

Selena Gomez has a weird quality where she simultaneously looks like a 12 year-old girl and a 30 year-old woman, and has the voice of a 60 year-old chain smoker.

Black Mirror has been a great series, but this season is off to a rough start for me. Joan is Awful is a damn mess. Are the other eps better?

The next episode, Loch Henry, was excellent.

Tough to say. Three of the five episodes are not the usual ‘Black Mirror’.

I would consider Joan Is Awful to be one of the two typical tech future dystopia episodes.

I actually liked the entire season. Found all episodes to be enjoyable TV.

Finally decided to watch Squid Game.

Wow, it's so much better than what I anticipated. It's a real drama, with deep and interesting themes about the modern human condition. If you brushed it off as some sort of cheap thrill, forget it. It's actually really interesting.

I too am in the same boat as you. I put it off, had zero interest in it, but my wife was watching it. Turned out to be a pretty damn good show. I thought it was overhyped, but it wasn't. There was drama, thriller scenes, and scenes that made me wanting to continue watching the next episode(s).

Anyone watching Hijack on Apple TV?

Great show. I’m a big fan of Idris Elba.

We’ve been watching - it’s kept our interest and has some interesting wrinkles from the standard plane hijacking fare. Some stuff is predictable…there’s only so many wrinkles you can have in one airplane. But it’s pretty enjoyable. I believe the finale is out this week.

I'm glad you both enjoyed it.

It really didn't do anything for me.

I honestly never got the hype.

Finished up "The Bear" Season 2 last night. I will stick with my assessment that I posted earlier in that this show is one of the greats out there. I ended perfectly. I'm disappointed because I wanted to see more of the character development but there's always next season.

Watching "The Bear" got me thinking about the ongoing writer (and actor?) strike. I've been lucky over the last few months to have completed a lot of TV shows that have been excellent - Better Call Saul, The Last of Us, I Think You Should Leave, The Other Two, White Lotus, The Bear. All of those shows had excellent writing. I really hope that the writers gets what they want/deserve and that they can get back to writing fantastic TV shows for us to enjoy.

Next up I think will be the latest season of "The Righteous Gemstones" or "Chernobyl" or "Fargo" or "True Detective".

Started watching Jury Duty.
Pretty funny show & concept. Has The Office vibes in how it's presented.

If you like Jury Duty and haven't seen it already search out The Joe Schmo Show. Same concept. I'm not sure where you could find it today, though.

The first couple seasons are pretty good, but the third is a little silly.

This is why, as much as losing Star Trek from Crave bums me out, the HBO content is worth the subscription. So, I’d probably tack on Paramount+ to Disney and Crave.

Only the first 2 seasons were done by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (the guys who also brought you the Zombieland and Deadpool films). They weren't involved in the 3rd season, and it showed.

TBS recently announced they're resurrecting it (it was originally on Spike TV), but a premiere date hasn't been announced.

Unfortunately, the first two seasons were produced in SD and likely shot on tape, so the quality would be poor and probably not worth it for anyone to put on streaming.

For the latest couple of years we've been calling Telus retentions to add Crave + HBO subscription as a throw in and they've done it.

Paramount+ is something we've been looking at but been getting by with PlutoTV which seems like an ad-supported Paramount+?

I signed up for the half price Paramount+ on Prime Day, so I was able to watch Top Gun: Maverick finally and I watched Wrath of Khan, which for some reason was the only TOS film on there. I just looked and they seem to have recently added all the other ones (I don't think I ever watch Search for Spock in its entirety).

Beyond those, there isn't really much on Paramount+ that interests me. If Space (or whatever it's called now) keeps showing Lower Decks and Strange New Worlds, I'll probably just keep watching them that way rather than buying Paramount+.

Perfect use of the Howard Dean weird rant/scream with Colin Robinson:

I could not stop laughing at the council of energy vampires. I am so taken by deadpan comedy delivery and that was just perfection. The whole bit with the mic not working went on just long enough to make it even funnier.

Colin Robinson is my favourite part of the show.
