Ah ####. She's obviously had a lot of demons and mental health issues in her life, along with her son dying a few years ago.

I always felt bad about how the world treated her for ripping up the picture of the pope on SNL. In hindsight, she was so obviously on the right side of that one.

I also love Sean-Nós Nua, her album of traditional Irish folk songs (along with a Canadian folk song "Peggy Gordon") and listen to it often. Beautiful voice.

I always felt bad about how the world treated her for ripping up the picture of the pope on SNL. In hindsight, she was so obviously on the right side of that one.
I always thought that her constant fight with her demons meant she would be unlikely to live to an old age. She was on the right side of the argument for many of her fights, and she paid dearly for them.
Hopefully now, she has found peace.

I mean, I know it was 1992, but some people's vehemence in defending the Vatican and the string of Popes all the way from WWII up to essentially now is ridiculous.
Fast forward a decade to the Spotlight Investigation in Boston and most of those guys should have been in prison.
