I wish but I was maxed out according to the docs and not allowed anymore until a certain time. A few months later I found out I had been on "death watch" in case I stroked out from my wee wound so I don't think they were messing around.
But yeah the morphine/opioids just numbed things and helped pass time but there was nothing wonderful about it nor interesting enough to consider recreational usage.
Immediately before the above (when still at the accident scene) I'd been given Ketamine and that was a super wild nasty disturbing hallucinogenic paranoid trip that I also can't imagine someone taking recreationally. Had such a bad trip it flipped out the EMT's and docs and they thought I had wild head injury.

How much pain were you in? I think that factors in.

Pain is relative isn’t it?
Some people handle some types of pain better than others.
Let’s just say that the hospital had to put my body into traction, had major surgery, and was there in total nearly 2 weeks before discharge. Oh and all the drugs…. Omg we could start another whole thread on….
“Hey have you seen the latest movie called Constipation?
It hasn’t come out yet. “
Ha ha.
Yeah that was my life, as most people who’ve spent too much time in hospital can also attest to.

(You could replace corn with peanuts, but I think the calorie content would be a little higher as they digest a little bit)
Things that I think about when I’m sitting on a boat in the middle of the reservoir.

Corn - 100% of the calories because it’s just the fibrous husk coming out from around the kernel and not the sugar/starch internal of the kernel.
Peanuts are more interesting as I once read that you don’t get the full caloric value from nuts because they are hard to digest.

Eat some pineapple, easier to digest after that.

Vacations aren’t relaxing, at all. Coupled with the inevitable mound of work waiting for you when you get back, with tighter timelines because everyone wanted something the day you left, it’s almost not worth taking the time off.

Pro-tip:
When you get back delete every email in your in box.
Then when people send you a follow up, give them the line "Thanks, I was just about to get to your email and response."
If they don't follow up did you really need to send you the email.

Even easier, make your out of office something like this:
“I am away on vacation until XXX. Contact XXX if urgent. If not urgent assume I will not read your email and if important please re-send after my return date.”

The amount of complaints you might get based on people's differing subjective expectations for "professionalism" makes this a double edge sword. You'll either win completely, or deal with worse headache than doing nothing or sticking with a basic out of office.
That being said, I can see why this might be useful. Someone getting mad over you being on vacation is a pretty good sign to reconsider the business relationship before bigger things blow up.

The least he could do is hook you up with those eye drops that make your vision go blurry so you can prank your friends.
They should invent eye drops with hallucinogenics in them.

Nah. I can prescribe Oral Antibiotics, corticosteroids and anti-virals but pretty much nothing else. Let me know if you ever need a Z-pack for "reasons".

Good to know. I'm more of a B&L Alrex 0.2% kinda guy, really. That stuff saves my sanity once every couple years when my eyes decide to burn and dry out randomly.

My wife hit up a pharmacy the other day, got tested for strep and got a prescription.
Super easy and way better than trying to get into her GP.
My questions is why can't my pharmacist extend my long term asthma prescription. If I run out they will give me generally one, but they always say I need to go back to my GP (I get this isn't totally on them).
What a waste of his time.

Does your GP make you go back to them every time? My pharmacist just faxes a request over to renew, and the doctor sends it back. I don't have to do anything.

This is news.
I will ask about this next time.
They have never mentioned this to me.
I just want to clear up some of my GP's time for others or have others be able to clear up time for me when I really need an appointment.
Typing this reminds me I need to do my sample for my over 50 medical

Wasn't this a major plot point in the movie Looper? I'm pretty sure they did eye-drugs in that movie.
