Whether you believe Sec214 posts or feel they are unfounded means nothing because ultimately this is the Trade rumours and SPECULATION thread so he along with dissentowner and other local insiders are posting these posts in the exact right thread and those who are complaining about it are the ones being children.

Honestly I propose we chance the title to Trade rumours and Seculation214, keep those hits coming Sec.

I think from a defensive perspective the league is waiting for EK to get figured out and once that happens the teams that feel they missed out on EK will circle back to do business with Calgary/Hanifin. Once that gets figured out and the Flames walk away with some futures I think they check back in with Toronto and see if they can get something figured out around Nylander which will help them with convincing Lindy to stay. I think with Backs the flames have already given him a number and AAV they’re comfortable with and I think Backs is also taking the wait and see approach.

Still the rest of July to get through here but I’d imagine fireworks start to happen here sooner than later as teams want to start preparing for camps and preseason come August.

So if you want the “real stuff” then:

A) don’t bother reading this thread
B) just wait for a ping from your phone when an NHL transaction occurs.

Yes, that Toffoli deal would have been bigger. I can't see the Devils parting with Mercer.

I already stated my reasoning in a previous post. No "speculation" has been accurate and no insight on trades or signings.

Its all good when making a random post but I find it weird when someone says they are an insider.

I could be wrong but I will wait for Sec214 to post anything that actually ends up happening to be proven wrong.

Player/Agent want it sorted out before the season starts. They're willing to go extension (Depending on the team) or will go without an extension and wait for the cap bump. Calgary would prefer to facilitate a location the player wants to improve the return.

Still ~2 Weeks left in NHL "Vacation Window".
