I saw the news story, the tail end of it anyways and I think Prime Time is out of Halifax and they are trying to get it. When/if they do they will remove the lettuce from the costume as lettuce on a Halifax donair is blasphemous.

The donair costume is now over $16,000 so the government actually made money off it. Maybe they should now make a hamburger and pizza costume since those markets are much bigger than donairs.

It's two restaurants bidding against each other. One from Halifax that claims to be where the donair was introduced in Canada, and an Alberta restaurant that wants it to stay here and not got back East. They said they will work with the Government to add a charitable element since the bidding is going so high.

The restaurants are Blowers and Grafton (chain) and King of Donair

As much as we talk about how bad the edmonton QB pool is. That offense is just not very well designed, and you can see where everything is going due to a lack of motion pre snap.
