Can they go back to where you see the shape of the jersey in the banner now?

I grew up with it so it's better than what we have now.

Between the Press Conference backdrop and the banners, it has been conclusively confirmed that the Calgary Flames, and potentially the entire CSEC do not, in fact, own an iron.

Scandalous!

Probably a good idea. Just in case Franzen tries to crash the party

I still remember his pro debut in Finland, was watching it live in my hometown Turku. I think he came in relief for someone and I thought this guy doesn't look very good. TPS had a embarrasment of riches at that time in goal, can't remember was it Jani Hurme or Fredrik Norrena or both who were ahead of him so he went to Sweden for a couple of years and it was only when he came back he got his super Saiyan powers. He single handily carried the team to a championship that year, still remember a blocker save in the finals that was so incredible that the opponent HIFK started running him because they couldn't beat him.

Obligatory ChatGPT rap.

(Verse 1)
Listen up, y'all, it's time to shine a light,
On a goalie that's legendary, with all his might,
Miikka Kiprusoff, between the pipes he's bold,
Stopping pucks like a fortress, ice-cold and bold.

(Chorus)
Miikka Kiprusoff, the goalie supreme,
In the crease, he's living the dream,
Blockin' shots, makin' saves so smooth,
His reflexes unmatched, he's got the groove.

(Verse 2)
From Turku, Finland, he came to play,
With lightning-fast reflexes, he owned the day,
Glove saves, pad stacks, he's a wall in the net,
Opponents frustrated, they just can't forget.

(Chorus)
Miikka Kiprusoff, the goalie supreme,
In the crease, he's living the dream,
Blockin' shots, makin' saves so smooth,
His reflexes unmatched, he's got the groove.

(Verse 3)
With flames on his chest, he ruled the ice,
The Calgary faithful, they knew he was nice,
Butterfly style, he'd drop down low,
Denying goals, a show that stole the show.

(Bridge)
The pressure's on, but he stays so calm,
His focus unwavering, like a hockey psalm,
Stealing wins, carrying the team on his back,
Miikka Kiprusoff, the goalie with the knack.

(Chorus)
Miikka Kiprusoff, the goalie supreme,
In the crease, he's living the dream,
Blockin' shots, makin' saves so smooth,
His reflexes unmatched, he's got the groove.

(Verse 4)
A Stanley Cup run, he gave it his all,
Inspiring teammates, standing tall,
His legacy engraved in hockey lore,
Miikka Kiprusoff, forever we'll adore.

(Chorus)
Miikka Kiprusoff, the goalie supreme,
In the crease, he's living the dream,
Blockin' shots, makin' saves so smooth,
His reflexes unmatched, he's got the groove.

(Outro)
So let's raise our voices, let's cheer with pride,
For Miikka Kiprusoff, the goalie's stride,
He's left a mark, a legend in the game,
Forever remembered, Kiprusoff's his name.

Ugh. Ugly stuff.

Rhyming bold with bold.
A show that stole the show?

The robots are not ready to take over on this day. Lots of mistakes

They should study Kipper more

Awesome. The most important player in franchise history as he pretty much saved our franchise! How great it was but having to worry about goaltending for almost a decade. .... But instead worrying about how we were going to score 2 or 3 goals to win a game. Lol

Kipper was awesome, favourite player of my late wife's and I'll always remember her in her Kipper attire on game days. Great memories.

Won the Vezina.

Won the Jennings a trophy usually highly favored to fewer games played to maintain that save percentage with 74 games played in the extremely high scoring year of 2005-06!

Nominated for the Vezina 3 times in 3 consecutive years.

Finished in the top 5 Vezina votes 4 times.

Received Vezina votes in 7 seasons.

Nominated for a Hart.

Finished in the top 5 in Hart voting twice.

There are plenty of forwards and defensemen who got into the Hall without a single Hart vote, individual hardware, or even finishing top 5 or top 10 in voting in their respective positions. Kipursoff was extremely dominant in 7 out of his 9 Calgary seasons, had a good season in 8 out of his 9 seasons, and only had one bad season which was his last season.

If he played on the East or an Original 6 franchise with those consistent dominant seasons, the guy would be locked into the Hall of Fame already.

Edit: He literally played 7 consecutive seasons with 70+ games played all at an extremely high level of play.

Edit 2: Jennings is fewest goals allowed with minimum 25 games played. Which makes his win even more insane.
Yes, Anal Crusher.

Yes, Anal Crusher.
And that was an Oilers fan saying Kipper deserves the hall. (Of course it was an oilers fan with a name like that.)

I feel fortunate to have watched him live and in his absolute, jaw dropping prime.

The 2004 run, the 2005 Vezina season, the 2006 playoffs when Kipper completely stood on his head even though we were completely outmatched against Detroit.

Well deserved!

What’s the over/under on how long his speech goes? I’m going <3 minutes.

Conny then gladly fills the remaining 27 minutes of allotted time.
