Kuznetsov for me.

Followed by Stomgren, Emilio Petterson, Schwindt and Soloyoyov.

This prospect list seems to be the best we have had since we drafted Tkachuk. Best part is we could actually see quite a few of them on the roster this year.

Went with Solovyov. This kids a player and had a great year in the AHL. May not have the upside that others on this list might have but he will play some games in the NHL this year.

Just a really steady and calm defender.

This is when the chaos begins.

It would typically start earlier which is a good sign that our prospect pool is fairly deep right now. May not have many blue chippers but it's solid.

I went with Ronni. Still chapped we passed on Hutson for him so he better turn out. I actually read he stood out at camp so maybe he is a hidden gem?

Strömgren is a winger with fast and powerful skating. Along with his great puck handling skills he can find creative solutions carrying the puck down the ice maneuvering through the defense. He is more of a shooter rather than a playmaker with a quick and accurate release but he also sees the ice very well to set up his teammates. (Erik Ohlsson, EP 2020)

Yeah those reports are nice, but Strömgren has had back to back terrible seasons. It's a good thing he'd coming over.

Though I'm not one to talk. I voted for Ronni, who also had a pretty bad season. Just kind of like the player.

I really think people are sleeping on Ronni, and he actually had a pretty good year, capped off with an excellent playoffs in the U20 where he was the second-best player in the league en route to winning the championship. He was 16th in ppg for U-20 aged players in the Liiga (the top men's league), with 5 points in 20 games, and was 15th for ppg in the regular season in the U20.

Ronni is 6'2", athletic, and plays with a chip on his shoulder. To me, he could one day be another Backlund-type. I voted Stromgren this round, but that's because I'm flip-flopping a little between the 2 players, as i voted Ronni last round. I feel like Strom has a higher ceiling, but Ronni has a higher floor.

Stormgren, suniev, Ronni are my next tier. Playing in a mens league always says a lot to me so he has tiered himself Into the second set.

For me the next break comes at solovyov who probably maxes out at bottom pair defencemen then next: kerrins, klapka, beck. One of the three will probably make it in some capacity with kerrins leading the pack. Just dont seem sold on kerrins being an nhl center but maybe a winger? Rw?

I just looked up his stats, and he finished tied for second place on his team in points for Rögle BK J20 in 2021-2022. He got called up to Rögle BK and got 0 points in 6 games in his first time ever playing in a men's league. I don't know that I would call that a terrible season.

2022-2023, he played only one game for Rögle BK J20, scoring three goals. Then he was moved (traded? loaned? transferred?) to Brynäs IF J20 where he again only played one game and got three points. He was called up to Brynäs and then got 8 points in 45 games as a 19 year old.

Given that J20 Nationell is their "AHL" and SHL is their "NHL," it would be like a guy lighting it up on the Wranglers but only getting 8 points in their first 51 games for the Flames. (Having said that, I'm not comparing quality of play at all. I don't know what the difference is in quality of play between there and here, other than I know that there (naturally) would be a difference).

At any rate, when I look at it in this context, it's not that bad. I'd be more worried about his SHL production if he was a top-10 pick, but at 45th overall I don't think there's much to worry about yet. I do think he needs to make the jump to the Wranglers this year though (which I think has already happened, or is in the works or something).

This past season, Stromgren played 45 games in the SHL, for one of the worst teams in the league, Brynas- who were relegated. Stromgren's 8 points were 7th overall for U-20 players, and his .18 ppg were top-20.

Despite being selected in the 2021 NHL Draft, Strom played all year as a 19-year-old, as he only turned 20 at the beginning of June.

Voted for Solovyov.
Only watched two wrangler games this year as it’s a 4 hour drive. However in those games he really impressed me. Poirier only played the one game we were at and in my mind solovyov was the best defencman in that game and a very close second in the other. Very different style than Poirier. So steady. Made solid crisp passes. Barely noticed him but in a very good way for a defenceman.

Big drop off from the top 8, who I think will all get more than just a cup of coffee. The rest are either too early to tell (like Bell), diamonds in the rough, long shots, or tweeners. Went with Stromgren because he has at least played against men, but have just as easily gone with Bell or Ronni, and Klapka at some point, who has potential as a serviceable bottom 6 winger.
