The All-Waivers team
Think we could come up with a pretty strong team filled by players that have been put on waivers?
Byron could be a decent 4th line jitterbug

Didn't the Flames put Martin St. Louis on waivers and Tampa picked him up?

He cleared waivers and two expansion drafts...they picked him up as a UFA

Reggie Lemelin was put on waivers the first year the Flames were in Calgary as they decided to go with Tim Bernhardt and Don Edwards in goal. Thankfully, no one claimed him and Lemelin went on to be one of the best goalies in Flames history.

Ray Whitney, Martin Gelinas. After Briere these have to be the two best players waived. They’re all fighting for second after St Louis.

in the early Flames years I was a huge Sabres fan (they were my team pre-expansion) and so I was excited of sorts when Don Edwards arrived on the scene- but that was around their 3rd year in Calgary I think

The Flames claimed Igor Kravchuk off waivers from the Senators. He actually went on to have a pretty year the following season in Calgary.

I think just waived in general to make the best team. But yeah we could have a Calgary team too.

There are a number of really good players who were put on waivers later in their careers, such as Mark Recchi.
I assume since players need to be put on waivers before being bought out, there are a number in that category as well.
