Yeah I've said it also that it should be pretty easy for him to go back to being a PPG player in a more offensive system. And not expect him to be some defensive wizard.

All words, but I hope we see him able to change the narrative.

And we're rooting for him. Go huby

It would be nice to let him play his natural position and not force him into a game that is foreign to him. I think you get the best out of players when you let them use their natural abilities and don't try to make then do things they struggle with. Novel concept I know.

Yeah it was a really bad fit with Sutter and his system, the way he forces wingers to come down to their own zone and slow the game down. Yeah his defensive metrics were great (who's aren't in Sutter's system??) but it was eliminating much of his offensive game. The right wing experiment was pretty hilarious too.

Didn’t Bylsma do something similar with Iggy when he was in Pittsburgh putting him at LW? I know that experiment didn’t work very well either

1000000000%.
This is the simplest and easiest answer to get off to a good start and build some confidence.

I think Huberdeau can rebound back to his mean production (90ish points). It's totally on him to do it though and I don't think he deserves a free pass for last season's performance.

On paper it was the closest thing to Huberdeau - Bennett that you could think of. But Huberdeau showed almost immediate improvement with Backlund when Sutter gave in.
That said, it wouldn’t be the first time pairs needed a couple tries with each other.

Yeah, it’s funny. I’m the same with very rare exceptions. Can’t recall who I agreed with or argued with.
What that means is you are arguing substance and not personality. Which is good.

I don't remember that! But that's even more hilarious considering how old Iggy was at that point.

Hah. I typically have a split screen on the computer and the same thing happens. If someone says something especially intelligent or dumb I will scroll over to see who said it.

Come on it’s ok to use some common sense and admit that there are major questions about Hubredeau and linemates, especially when it comes to chemistry and good fits. That isn’t being pessimistic, it isn’t stirring the pot and it sure as hell isn’t trolling.
It is a legitimate concern the team has to consider going into next season.
|
Sharangovich has a wicked shot and goes to the tough areas, he is much better than you think. He was healthy scratched by the Devils because he is a top 6 skill player and they would rather play more grinder types in the bottom 6. Meier bumped him down the lineup. my point is you can't possibly know 100% that Huby has no chemistry with anyone on the roster. You are definitely trolling away here.

Was that the one where they were saying Markstrom was better than the stats said because of the shot quality or something?

If you read about Huberdeau reporters around the Panthers said he was a highly motivated person who put in a lot of work to gain size and work on his game he wants to be the guy.
For some unknown reason Sutter used him like he was a spare part. The system didn’t fit the team when you are pretty much graded on shots on goal especially for a passer like Huberdeau.
Sounds like everyone on the team thus year is on the same page with how we want to play and allowing skill players to play with skill.

He was healthy scratched because they had better players to play. And this wasn't some world beating Devils team it was an ok-ish team.
I do know he has no chemistry with the guys on the team because he has shown that. There is nobody on the team, Sharangovich included, that on paper look to be a good fit with him either.
We can hope we get lucky and that some miracle happens and it works out but that is a terrible way to run a hockey.
No trolling in anyway just stating facts.
