I remember Brent Sutter doing nearly the same thing in his first year as head coach.

Flames started 4-0-0-0, Brent made some post-game comments about not being satisfied with how the team was playing, they then proceeded to drop the following 3 games and go on to a wonderfully garbage season.

Even if that was the case that is one player.

yeah Kadri and Lucic was the way to go obviously, no way he could have had better chemistry with anyone else

Sutter basically sabotaged the team because they wouldn't do things his way...he could have chemistry with a number of players if said players are given the chance to play to their strengths and not all be pluggers

He hasn't shown chemistry with anyone and looking at it on paper there are zero good fits to play with him either.

He was forced to play RW as well, even after explaining to the coach that he was uncomfortable there.

I’ve said it before, but it really seemed like Sutter was purposely sabotaging the season to make Tre look bad.

Makes sense but I don’t see how you get 19 points out of that.

I think it was too break down the new players. Tre was just an added bonus.

He whined after every win in the 4-0 start and the team started to play the right way and started the streak of missing the playoffs.

A lot of shots at Iginla through the media it was embarrassing.

Also, the ice time thing isn’t as easy as it looks, because you have to subtract the goal prevention/creation from whoever would be losing ice time. Which isn’t going to be Lucic anymore.

Sure, but dismissing it is foolish. He had a bad year - dismissing all prior years, and assuming the bad year is the new reality, is.... short-sighted at best, unless there is some material change (injury, or whatever) to justify it.

In sports, performance ebbs and flows. Writing off talented players, for singular bad seasons, is no way to manage a franchise

I never said it was the new reality, just that it is relevant.

He is no sure thing to rebound greatly.

"stating the truth". Ah yes. The woeful shriek of your standard internet troll. A long bellow into the night. A wail if you will.

As usual when people can’t refute the statement they don’t like they cry troll instead of actually addressing the comment.

Not a lot different than crying “homer” when people disagree with you, which is apparently fine in your books.

No when people disagree I provide reasons why I think they are wrong. But when the homer label fits it should be used 100%
