I think Moss may workd out in NE simply because the Pats won't allow one player to be bigger than the team, and every player that goes there know that. If Moss takes a few plays off then Bill will have him on the bench and no amount of pouting will work. Randy knows that, he has reqworked his contract so he can play there (Holy Cow, helping the rich stay rich!) so while I think he will have a few mopey moments, he will also get smacked out of it pretty quickly.

Belichick won't put up with any of his crap, that's for certain. who knows? Corey Dillon wasn't looked too kindly upon before and was a model Patriot. Anything is possible. Brady certainly can't say he doesn't have a receiver anymore.

Dillon is a decent example because we was simply just tired of losing. I think they will get a year or two out of Randy, but that will be good enough to justify the 4th round pick.

But that was why Dillion was unhappy - he was tired of being the only decent player on a franchise that wasn't doing much to get better.
Moss is also on a poor franchise, but isn't playing hard. You could never say that about Dillon.

Moss can be the best player on winning teams. He's the worst player when the team is losing. Loses his drive. Playmaker when the rest of the team is clicking... that's for damn sure.

Regardless of wheather he was playing hard, they were both very motivated in moving to a winner. I know Moss was a bedwetter when things didn't work out, but so long as they do in NE he will perform well

What happens if Belichek benches him for a quarter if Bill thinks Moss mails in a couple plays?
THAT will decide how this turns out.

He fits well into zones and swarms the ball rather good. With David, what you see is what you get, and that's not an insult. He was durable with the Colts and for the most part was reliable. Not to mention he is rather young so there's a lot of room for him to still grow.

Thanks for the wrap-up, it's good to hear the Saints will actually have some speed at the #2 spot, to replace ol' Highway 22 there. I worry about what you mentioned in the part I bolded though, about him not being great locked up man-to-man against a #1 or 2 guy, as the Saints probably use more man-to-man D than any other team in the league. Sounds like he should win the #2 job over Thomas and Craft rather easily, but by no means does that fix the hole in the secondary.

Cap wise if Moss goes back to his old ways it won't hurt the Patriots. However if he does act up halfway through the season, or during a very critical part of the year, you don't think it will have an affect on the team? Having to hear question after question about Randy, wondering whether or not he's gonna be cut exc.
Personally I think Moss is going to blossom in New England and finally get his head on strait. I just think that the risk in signing him is basically nothing as many have said, just because the cap hit would be small.

Chiefs release DE Eric Hicks. And trade DT Ryan Simms for an undisclosed draft pick to Tampa Bay.

Yeah, I'll sure miss him....He was like the 6th overall pick in the draft and the team traded up to get him to boot. Absolutely horrible, but It's nice to see Edwards cut some of the dead weight on that defence here from the past few years.

Absolutely.
That Samoan kid from Oregon has already made Chiefs fans forget about Sims. Despite Jared Allen's problems, he's a hell of a player too.
How'd you feel about the Bowe pick? I thought it was exactly where they needed to go. A lot of locals were keen on offensive linemen and were upset.

Reminds me a lot of Sylvester Morris and what might have been. Hope Bowe plays as well and can stay healthy.
Tim Grunhard is all gaga over him. Jason Whitlock likes the pick but thinks the Chiefs should have bulked up on offensive linemen. The Chiefs have no recievers. They need receivers. Sure they need offensive lineman. But they needed to draft the best player available with the 23rd pick.

Yeah, I like the Bowe pick too. Offensive lineman can be developed with good coaching and you just can't pass up a chance to grab a skill player with that much talent at that point in the draft. I think the Chiefs maybe could have looked to nab an O-lineman instead of a kicker in the 5th round....but I digress. The line should be good enough still to be able to protect the QB and having a good WR to go with Gonzalez should help the Chiefs run a more balanced offence. The old duo of Eddie Kennison and Sammy Parker frankly wasn't good enough, and as BBB said, they needed to upgrade at that position as their depth and talent there just isn't very good.

610 Sports in Kansas City is reporting that the Philadelphia Enquirer is claiming that RB Larry Johnson is planning to hold out on the Chiefs if they don't rework his contract. Johnson is scheduled to make $1.85 million this year and has 3 years left on his rookie contract. Odds of Johnson holding out are apparantly 50 / 50.

Adam Schefter on the NFL Network commented on those odds today, and said 50/50 was probably too hopeful. He seems to think LJ will most likely hold out. And to be honest I cant even blame him, as the way the Chiefs are over-using him, by the time he is a free agent again he's going to have plastic knees.

No kidding - less than a million next year? A RB has got to get paid when we can because he's only got a shelf life of ~7-9 years. When youre worked like Johnson, that can get shorter.
I think he will, and should, hold out.
