Kim is buying out Murray to own a piece of her daughter's favourite team.

Hanifin front has 5 serious teams looking into him but I think only two are serious and have assets Calgary wants. Boston will wait to see if he makes it to FA. Buffalo has the asset but probably won’t part with the ask currently but they keep calling. Other teams are interested in the one year term Hanifin but he probably holds better value at the deadline than what’s currently being offered.

Markstrom is extremely motivated to come back and prove his haters wrong it will be here in Calgary. He is still an incredible team player and even if he lost his starting job he would be a good mentor to Wolf/Vladar like he currently is.

Lindholm and Flames continue to talk but as far as I’m hearing the flames are not moving on their offered number Larkin/Horvat money. A eastern team is interested in Lindholm for the year and extension would be sorted out later, I believe it’s Rangers.. Carolina is inserted but I don’t think the player is interested in a extension.
Nylander is also a rental

I think you’re missing the Value aspect but if you want to trade pending UFAs for one another that’s a interesting take. Teams typically only do that if the know the players each want to test free agency at contracts end… I don’t think Willy wants to do that.

IDK, the Leafs team is over the cap and worse than the team that didn't get it done. They have one year before an even worse cap crunch. Brad is almost in a no win situation, its cup or bust.

They need D badly

seems like they are ripe for the picking

If Brad is moving nylander he would want cost certainty assets or more bullets IE draft capital/prospects he can use to get what he wants. This is his MO.

Hanifin won't be moved for a pending UFA that doesn't have an extension in place. I wouldn't think.

Only way that would happen is if the player says I don’t want to show up…Noah has also said he will honour his contract this up coming season and make every effort to be the best version of himself for the Calgary Flames. He just won’t sign an extension.

well yeah both guys would be extended in this scenario

Leafs are in a way worse cap situation than the Flames for the year after next

anyway, my rumors are just as good as the next guys if we are talking about success rate

I'm saying that I haven't given it much thought. I'm also saying that there are 3 D on the Flames I'd rather have ahead of him. On most top teams in the league he would be a 3D, maybe even a 4.

asking for and getting are two different things, if you want 9 you don't ask for 9

he is easily a 9M player though, guy is electric...I mean we almost paid Gaudreau 10.5

What separates Nylander from a guy like Debrincat who couldn't get a long term extension at a high number out of a team this summer? There is a 9 point difference in production between those two over the past three years combined. His 10M dollar ask certainly limits his value.

Heard this discussed somewhere (DFO I think?) but Debrincat got squeezed by Detroit considering it was his preferred destination and the internal salary cap structure they have established. If I was guessing I'd say it probably knocked the overall price down about a million/yr under market (although the shorter term also likely plays a bit of a role here too. Player OK's it as will be UFA at like 29 with a - supposedly - massively risen cap).

-31 probably

Also he could have got 9+ from the Sens

are we still pretending all teams pay the same for players? Flames fans of all people should know this
Gaudreau and Tkachuk could have had 10.5M each in Calgary and said Nah

Nylander is 1 year from UFA status, looking at his previous two years output.

His agent would likely compare his status with other similar players.

So Buffalo is serious. Can you divulge the other serious team?
