Also, seems like Sutter has gone about doing his business after being fired and stayed quiet. Huberdeau has taken some shots (in the French media) and still seems to harbor some resentment. Switch your focus and get ready for next season.
The locker room seems disjointed and something isn't right and I think that extends beyond the Sutter effect. Who knows what the issues are but Conroy has a tough job ahead of him. Hopefully he knows the culprits and can remove some of the toxicity and focus on gaining respectability again.

I never saw thius from Huberdeau. Not until after the season and then it was weak "we didn't see eye to eye". As for Sutter, same other than line deployment.

I don't think Huberdeau ever really showed a lack of maturity/respect - but even if he did - I think it's reasonable to expect more maturity from the guy in his mid 60s whose job description is to make the team function than the guy in his late 20s his job description is to perform on the ice.

I will say this about Backlund, Lindholm, Hanifin and whoever else is non-committal; If they are not part of the solution, they are part of the problem.
With all their talent, it must be hard to lack the mental fortitude to not believe they can make the difference on this Flames team. Players like that, this team does not need.

That’s silly
Backlund has faced the top opponents night in and night out and has done an excellent job, no matter his linemates. He also has a healthy dislike for the provincial rivals
He captained his national team to gold but the old codger coaching here felt that he would rather have no captain at all
Nobody here knows the actual problems in the room so nobody can know the likelihood of them being solved
He has a legitimate decision to make, and it has a lot to do with his age, years left, and the Stanley Cup
The team does need players who are among the best in the league at their role
