I think he's crazy. Cozens is way younger, had more points, is huge, and has a fantastic long contract.
Flames would have to add to get Cozens.

I thought they picked up 3 or 4 during free agency? Think they need a goalie.

The Markstrom rumblings are interesting because I truly believe that goaltending is the key thing they need to start to compete. Levi might be the guy long-term but not now.

Markstrom+Hanifin for ???

My buddy, a Sabres fan, also wouldn't do a Cozens for Lindholm, one for one, trade.

That would be good work by Conroy if he is able to pull that off.

Markstrom + Hanifin for Kulich, a 2024 first, Jokiharju and Skinner works from a salary perspective for Buffalo and the Flames. Move out Lindholm for some additional prospects and cap relief and you can compete now and build up your prospect base.

Markstrom rumblings?

I thought our insiders were saying he has no interest in moving and his value is too low after last season for the Flames to even really want to move him?

I think the "rumblings" spawned from Eklund, so they're probably indigestion related.

Perhaps murmurings would have been a better word?
Whispers?
Grumblings?
Mumblings?

All of those suggest more than one person bringing it up. (if its just Eklund, I don't know)

Given that we know Markstrom wants to come back to Calgary and Conroy's recent comments about him recently talking to Markstrom and saying how much he is looking forward to his upcoming season because he has a chip on his shoulder about his performance I can't see Markstrom getting traded. I mean it's possible but highly unlikely.

I chalk up Eklund’s Markstrom to the Sabres talk with as much legitimacy as the Huberdeau to Arizona stuff he was peddling before the draft. Complete nonsense and almost no way it is true.

I do wonder if Buffalo is looking at the possibility of some major upgrades considering the Atlantic division is full of some really strong teams like Toronto, Tampa, Florida. Boston is good until proven otherwise but could be due for a drop off. Detroit, Ottawa and Buffalo all seem on the cusp of pushing through and making the playoffs eventually

I think that calgary starting to move players is holding on what happens in Boston. They are in a window, and lindholm is such a seamless replacement for Bergeron or Krejci in terms of playing style.

If lindholm goes, part of the rumored return is Carlo. That slots the right D really nicely with Anderson, Carlo and Tanev. It also frees up the hanifin trade with weegar, zadorov and kylington slotting in on the left.

Don’t love a defensive dman as the centrepiece in a Lindholm return.

Would hope to get more than just Carlo for Lindholm but you never know right now because the last rumours were that the offers were underwhelming. Lindholm for Carlo + 2024 first round pick (lottery protected) + Lysell would be fair IMO.

I wouldn't be entirely surprised if Buffalo enquired about Markstrom, trying to get him on the cheap.

Question would be more if Flames would move him for little return, or would rather bank on a bounce back.

Boston has nothing that interests me in a Lindholm deal. Not a single thing.

Carlo+ for Hanifin? Sure we can talk but they have no prospects, immediate picks, or in prime players I would consider moving for Lindholm.

The Flames are a great trading partner for Boston but Boston is a terrible trade partner for Calgary

Putting Carlo in Calgary terms : regher.
Putting lysell in baseball terms : 4 or 5 in the flames system.
Prefer a 2025 or 2026 1st when Boston is less dominant.
