Plus it gives the Habs all the incentive they need to give him big minutes as it will only provide them with a bargain contract if he flourishes.
Newhook will eventually cash out as well, so him giving the Habs a good reason to give him big minutes is good for both of them.
You don't get many players who sign in this price range anymore who have 40 point or better upside for this term. So yeah this is a solid bet for Montreal.
