That is a great choice for Lois. The trick is making the character interesting and relevant. Margot Kidder was central to the first two Superman movies but Amy Adams was just a waste.
It's hard to do much when a character is defined as "so and so's" girlfriend. And of course if you go too deep into Lois Lane, you're kind of missing the point of a Superman movie. Hopefully they figure it out.

DC now has the three biggest super hero flops in history. The Flash has just beat Shazam 2, which recently surpassed WW84.
You can not include WW84 with the other two, given all the circumstances around the release it was a success at the box office . The film was released during the peak of Covid and governments had restricted theatres so that only 10% of seats in a theatre could be sold + it was released at home via streaming the same day. Despite all those circumstances it still managed to make $170M world wide, and was the #1 selling physical media movie of the year with another $35M in sales.
I mean, what constitutes the 3 biggest flops? Punisher: War Zone, The Phantom, The New Mutants -- all opened on 2,000+ screens and would be envious of WW84's domestic gross. Elektra? Kick-Ass 2? Mystery Men? Catwoman?

I believe they calculate the flops by money lost, budget vs profits. War Zone had a budget of only 22 mil, even if it wasn’t released it wouldn’t scratch the surface of the money others essentially lit on fire

Ugh...now you made me remember WW84...that movie sucked out loud...I cant believe they roped Pedro Pascal into that turd as the lamest, dumbest villain to ever grace the Silver Screen...
WW84 was such a great film have you seen all of the studio executives clambering all over one another to continue making more of them?
And Patty Jenkins did such a great job that she's been beating work away with a stick and as such hasnt done a damned thing since.

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.
It would have properly flopped if released today. It was a terrible movie.
There was no way that movie was making anything below $600M worldwide if it was released in 2020 pre Covid. The first Wonder Woman is great and this one had so much hype behind it.

I think you're using the term 'Great' rather liberally.
The original Wonder Woman can be summed up thusly:
The DCEU had kept feeding its fans and theatre-goers S**t Sandwiches over and over and over again and then Wonder Woman comes out and its like getting a McDonald's Cheeseburger.
Sure, its going to sit in your stomach like a lump of iron, but it still tasted better going down than the crap you got before.
It was 'just okay' which for DC at the time was a Home Run! WW84's chances of Box Office 'just okay' was exclusively tied to riding its predecessor's coat-tails.
Because standing alone, WW84 was a gigantic turd of a film. Regardless of how hard it WISHED it wasnt!
What was that guy's name even? Wish-Wizard? Wish-Master? God that was stupid. I'd bet Pedro Pascal wakes up in a cold sweat in the middle of the night remembering that.
WW84 is the movie you put on in the background when you're scrubbing your toilet.

Wonder Woman is the only DCEU movie I own and have watched multiple times, and the only DC cinema material I would ever revisit outside of the Burton and Nolan Batmans.
In the genre of superhero movies it is definitely great, even ignoring all recent comparables.

Except the ending. If you turn it off when they get to the air base, it's great.
Nah. It was an excellent movie. The whole film should have been a blueprint for the DCEU to carry forward. It was the Iron Man/Captain America they could have built from, depending on the phase.

Also, over the weekend, it was confirmed that Jennifer Garner will be reprising her role as Elektra in Deadpool 3 and also rumoured (but not yet confirmed) that Affleck will also be appearing as Daredevil.
