Not one of these so called leaders could show ul for the parade?
Huberdeau, weegar or kadri who just signed for 10s of millions?
Backlund, the guy who wants captain so badly?

Maybe this is an irrational take but to me it's a bad look and shows 0 buying to this city.

Tkachuk and gaudreau were both in the parade and neither bought into the city. It's not awesome but the opposite point doesn't hold up.

I agree it sure would’ve been a good sign to see them there though. At least they would’ve been trying to enjoy the best that their team’s city has to offer. It’s kinda annoying when people talk about how players don’t feel that Calgary has as much to do on days off but then don’t come to Calgary’s greatest event. (I’m thinking of Eric Francis’ discussion of Milan Lucic’s recent interview.)

I’m not sure why they didn’t have Coleman in the parade. He was at the rodeo yesterday afternoon according to his Instagram.

It’s unlikely we’re giving up the best player if Nylander is involved. Nylander would instantly become our best player.
That’s overrating Nylander

Is it? Or is that just how bad this version of the team is?

I definitely can see why Treliving would have a lot of comfort moving someone like Nylander to the Flames because he knows exactly who he would be acquiring and knows them individually as people and not trusting hearsay or other intel he can get on players from other teams.

Yeah, it is. Nylander would be way behind Huberdeau and probably on par with Lindholm. Don’t let Sutter’s cluster#### of a season fool you. There is talent on this roster.

Maybe. Huberdeau looks like he only enjoys river hockey.

Well if river hockey means he puts up 115 points, I say let him play river hockey. It’s not like the Panthers were bad when they let him play river hockey and he was scoring at that pace.

Nylander wouldn’t get 50 points playing for Sutter. It’s hard to score from the dog house.

Him and Lindholm have nearly identical points and goals over the last 5 years and Lindholm is a center and only a year older. There isn't a huge gap there and then Huberdeau is a wild card

I've been on the trade Lindholm train hard but if this team can figure out a way to bring in Nylander and have a top line of Huberdeau-Lindholm-Nylander, I'm all of a sudden pretty excited for win now flames again.

If the Flames use Lindholm to trade for a worse, likely to be just as expensive, basically the same age player to try and compete, they can #### right off. There should be no place for Nylander on this team. He is the exact kind of player we should not be going for.

The Leafs are a terrible trade partner for the Flames they have nothing of value that the Flames should be interested in.

Edit:

If it is Hanifin as the main piece and Lindholm stays that is even worse.

If Flames trade with Toronto I would look at Mangiapane as one of Treliving's target. He likes the player and has always said he likes to trade for players with term.

Agreed and any Nylander trade would logistically have to include Mangiapane.

Both Dube and Pelletier can play similar roles and are substantially cheaper. Nylander brings an element to the team that we are lacking, a true RW sniper.

If you can resign Lindholm you would have an absolute deadly 1st line and powerplay.

This team isn't rebuilding but doing a soft rebuild, bringing in a top 10 RW in the league is never a bad idea.
