I just watched season 5's finale...what an emotional bomb that was. I saw that coming, but seeing how Shane actually did it was shocking. I can't even put to words how much I hate Forest Whitaker's character!

Yep, you knew something was coming, that scene was taking a little too long for my liking, so I knew he was gonna do something, didn't think it would be that. And I agree, Forest Whitaker is one of my most hated characters on TV. When he said, "Are you happy now, Detective Mackey??" at the very end of the finale, I seriously shouted, "Go kick his fn ass Vic!!" Hated Kavanaugh, but that just means that Forest did a great job. A little bit of overacting at times(the whole tastes like piss scene was a bit much) but I thought he was a great addition to the show. Glen Close, Anthony Anderson and Forest Whitaker have all been great.

Anyone catch the premiere of season 6 last night?? I just finished watching it on the computer and WOW, great episode, this show just continues to impress and to keep people intrigued. Forest Whitaker is awesome and this has to be one of the most despised villains on TV. I just wanna grab him by the throat and choke the hell out of him. Awesome episode, can't wait till next week.

I just finished it as well, all I can say is...WOW! That's how to begin a season.
I've loved this show since the pilot and it hasn't disappointed ever since.

Shane sitting in his truck, with his gun in his hand, I'm sure I wasn't the only one yelling at him to eat it.
Great episode. Best thing on TV right now.

I thought Walton Goggins did a great job in the episode yesterday. You can tell it's eating him up inside and that scene in the truck was amazing. Who knows what would have happened had Dani not come by with the baby.
It's a shame that more people in Canada don't know about this show, because it is simply incredible.

Yeah, he is a great actor, no doubt. The scene where he found out from Claudette that he killed Lem for no reason was heartbreaking. I don't think I would blame anyone for eating their own gun after hearing that.
But what makes me despise his character even more, is the way he can carry on with his scumbag like ways, such as screwing that young girl.
This show is so different than anything on TV, it makes you really feel for every character, in so many different ways.

Yeah, he has had some really good scenes that he totally pulled off.
1. The Lem scene
2. When Shane finally confessed to Vic what he was up to with Antwan and Vic pulled the gun on him and Shane had to ask for his help.
3. Shane and Vic's argument that ended Season 3, I could watch that scene over and over.
Shane is the most interesting character on the show IMO. He is such an ass with his racism, tactics and the way he treats people, but at the same time, he is likeable because he is Vic's best friend, he's part of the strike team, and you always wanna see him get his life back on track. But since the end of last season, it's hard to feel bad for a guy like Shane, I think he is gonna confess if Kavanaugh's pressure is too much for Vic to handle. For some reason, I see Shane feeling guilty if Vic starts getting more of the blame. Totally out of shane's character to own up to his mistakes, but I can see him doing it to save Vic.

Is Season 6 being aired in HD?
I'm pretty much to the point that I cant stand the quality SD provides any more. If it is still being aired in SD (and no doubt over compressed), then I'll have to wait for the Season 6 DVD set next year.
I have just started watching season 5 on DVD, so I didnt read this whole thread in order to avoid any spoilers. Sorry if it has been mentioned already.

Another great episode on Tuesday. I'm so happy Kavanaugh is done, I really hated that sack of excrement. Now, I hope Amolia goes the same route, stupid bitch. I have a feeling Shane is gonna confess to the guys in the next couple of episodes, the guilt looks like its taking a pretty big toll on him.
I find myself more excited for Shield episodes than the Sopranos and 4-5 years ago, I thought I would never say that,.......EVER. But the shield is amazing.

Yeah it looks like Shane is ready to crack, he looks like he has to admit to someone that he killed Lem. When Vic's ex was yelling at Kavanaugh and telling everyone that he sexually assaulted her, I was yelling at the tv "ha eat that kavanaugh!!!!" Great episode!!! I really hope Vic off's Amolia for what she did.

Another solid episode yesterday, I don't think the shield makes bad ones. Pretty disturbing watching Vic pretty much torture that guy to death. That was hard to take and then the way they disposed of the body, jesus. Can't wait till next week and see who this replacement is. Shane is gonna crack, and I can't wait to see Vic's reaction to it.

On the weekend, on Saturday and Sunday night, I noticed that the shield was on WGN HD and Fox HD. They were series episodes 32 and 33, from season 3.
Perhaps someone who hasnt followed the series each year is interested. I found it interesting because I hadnt seen it on Canadian TV before.

It may have been on those channels, but I don't think it was HD. FX, the channel that makes the show, doesn't even have their own HD channel yet.
