Pretty sure it was supposed to say Mark Stone wouldn't be playing on the flames. Michael Stone is a mainstay who needs an 8yr x 770k extension

I suppose he could always tap up his brother for some cash from time to time.

Add another former Flame player I really really want to see raise a cup as part of our management team now.
Glad to see him remain part of the system and build a new career on the business side. Had to be tough to be locked into one city and only one year deals.

I think he could've been our 7th defenseman again this season at league minimum.
I wonder how much of a paycut he took to ensure he got to stay in Calgary. I bet he doesn't have to travel with the team and that was a big part of his decision to retire

I think he was awesome, but yeah, he's 33 and a 7D...hangin' 'em up isnt unreasonable or outrageous.
I dont know the guy whatsoever, but he strikes me as a man of great humility and character. Someone who does woodwork in their garage.
Forever a Flame sir. You did everything that was asked of you and more, and we simply cant ask any more of you.
Thank You Mr. Stone.
Clappers from the point. Legend.

This is the type of personnel you hire to change your culture in a hockey organization.

The guy loves it here, even with opportunities to play elsewhere he waited for an offer from the Flames.
Watching the video of him announcing his retirement from playing was a bit sad, you can clearly see the kid still wants to play but would rather the certainty of knowing he’s staying in Calgary then waiting until September to get a deal.
This is a guy who gave a #### every night, who performed every time he finally was able to get in the lineup and put up some key points when doing so. Rode the popcorn spot for the last few years and never complained.
I’m happy he got a job with the flames, this is a good sign that the team wants that mindset and attitude with its rookies and I wish him the best.
Thanks Stoney!
